  1. MetalPanda360:

You disappeared and reappeared for EoW release day..... hm

    Blame Seinfeld and The Sopranos

I started watching it. I am now on season 8 on Seinfeld and 4 of The Sopranos.

    Oh and Netflix too.

  2. Managed to get 2 copies solid first issue, adding to my pull list.

I thought you were 100% comixology now.

Not for SAGA and Adding East of West. I bought the East of West for selling mainly but its pretty bad so I might add it to my collection. As for Digital, Yeah umm Pirate Bay Dude.

Also Flash from DC New 52 is a beast to read on Dual Screens.

  3. didn't see any reprints today....but the LCS phones were ringing off the hook for Batman Inc. 8.

Heard it was listed in Ny Times hence why it sold out like hot cakes.

Also I am selling my nowhere men collection, look at my sig.

  4. No silver linings eh CB? I mean it can't ALL be doom and gloom bro...

well, i dont see it as a doom and gloom, advising people to be cautious. I genuinely dont want people to get burned, or another series to collapse under speculative mania. Bedlam got annihilated by this type of action, and this one's movement is dwarfing even that. A lot of people are still well underwater on Bedlam and the NYCC stuff.

Right now, if these prices were valid, than you would have to validate the following claim:

The THIRD Nowhere Men 500 print variant of #1 (with one or two more coming) is worth more RAW than Revival's one and only 500 print variant SLABBED IN 9.8, it is worth more than Bedlam's one and only 500 print variant SLABBED IN 9.8, it is worth almost double Thief of Thieves 350 print variant raw.

This is the THIRD 500 print variant release (blue) we are talking about, on a series that's only 3 issues old. I am keeping this apples to apples, comparing same sized run books, all from within the last 12 months.

The fact that these valuations even occured is a scary commentary on the shape of the market (in my mind) and the direction it is heading. Let alone, that they can be sustained. Someone give me a logical explanation of why NWM's third 500 variant should be worth double ToT's raw, and more than Revival and Bedlam's 9.8 slabbed ones.

Quite hard to give a logical explanation but I will try my best.

    Its Nowhere Men Bro

    Gneisssss, I'll see myself out.

  5. Forgive me if Im being nieve or uniformed....

Why are these late released "variants" being considered so collectible?

I do not understand how a book that was released 2-3 months ago like NWM # 1 just now gets a variant and people look at it the same way as many of the 1:50 or 1:100 variants that get released on the same day as the regular version.

Is this not just a glorified second print or third or 4th print? If the indicia does not mention its a later print, that is plain deceitful IMHO. Unless they were printed months ago, which I HIGHLY doubt.

I understand the modern market is crazy right now, I understand this book was limited to 500. So what? Many REPRINTS have lower print runs.

Unless I am missing something, Im having a hard time understanding why people on these boards would care for something like this. Well, maybe since the member count has doubled in the last year that would explain it....

    I just dont get it.....

Next thing your gonna tell me is that there will be a 2013 SDCC variant of NWM # 1 limited to 300 and selling for $200.. and issue # 7 will be on the stands...... Thats retarded.

RRP's are generally put out before release...most 1st print variants are put out the same month, most of which the same day.

Someone explain to me why this is collectible. Tell me why YOU want a CGC SS 9.8 of this book, because I dont get it. I want to understand.

    cause its Nowhere men Bro

  6. I think I'm officially done collecting this book, possibly all image together. The constant barrage of variant covers over the last 7 months is starting to irritate me something fierce.

Same here. I mean whats with this variant of comics pro, wtf its like $150 and theres barely any copies of it. LIke WTF I had the full collection before these super rare variants that 90% wont even get.

    I'm done with this comic.

Getting rid of my collection, keeping the signed one but getting rid of the others.

  7. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

    It came,

I love you E.S. Omg I have to go to lowes tomorrow and get a frame. Oh God panic mode. Oh man best day ever, got my school refund, got a job interview and then the comic signed by E.S.

    :whee:

  8. One ended on eBay tonight at 0.99. I was going to bid, but it was during Walking Dead during a good part. I missed out. So did the seller.

WOW I feel bad for him but thats what happens when your auction ends on Sunday night.

anyway Price for #1 dropped quite alot in the past few days, mostly cause of the third print I think but I could be wrong.

  9.

And as far as the WWPDX thing goes -- there are 500 copies for sale, plus creator comps -- and no, that particular version of the book won't be printed again, so be cool and leave some for the Fund to actually sell at the show.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEVER NEVER, WE OWN THIS MARKET.

Though to be honest I doubt we will leave any for the show.Have you seen the thread, people are ordering 20+ copies.

  10. it's for a great cause, so if they want to print more, no worries

I understand its a great cause but know that most people are buying it for the super low print and that's it.But if it was a different cover for the more prints then I am ok.

  11. It just means he has upped his maximum bid each time. The reason the bid hasn't changed is because the only a different bidder can force him to pay more.

I always believe this looks fishy. In all honesty if I was wanting to bid on your books, this sort of activity would put me off. The guy may actually be clever enough to know this and is exactly the effect he wants.

that what I am wondering why not just bid one or twice.

I am curious to see how it will play out.

His top bid is around $6.29.

    He can't bid $1.04 then $1.04 then $1.04 then $1.04.

He has to bid the next bid increment which I believe is 25c?

then he has to re - bid another 25c etc etc etc.

I get this quite a bit, cancel bids, block bidder, move on.

It's just a way to put other bidders off & try to win the item for $1.04.

Other potential bidders will see this & think he really wants it so must have put in really high bids toward the end.

If his bids were days apart and only a few of them it may be legit but his are lots of bids seconds apart.

Definitely trying to get this on the cheap

    You can block bidders?

    Well this is new.

Would it be a smart idea to block the guy or no?

  12. So that said, these are the actual print runs for the book so far:

    NWM 1 - 13,825 (13,500 to Diamond)
