    :bump:

Where's all the Spidey fans? Whats going on people? say something.....respectfully :foryou:

    You rang?

  2. If you can't afford to play the game, don't participate. Simple as that. Come back when you can.

I love playing poker but that doesn't mean I'm going to go to a casino and sit at the high rollers unless I can afford to play those high stakes. So you'll see me with the regular guys playing for what I can afford. That's it, simple as that. If later on I can afford the high stakes, I'll head over but in the mean time I'm where I should be.

Let's stop making excuses if a boardie can't afford to offer something in similar value.

There's always the PIF thread can go and offer their precious drek.

  3. If I'm reading the rules correct, you can only have one :takeit: in a 30 day period. If so that makes it tougher to take something. Will there be enough interest in this to make people wait 30 days? I have some nice stuff I can offer and would like the ss book being offered, but I would hate to miss a better ss book in a couple of weeks.

You have to factor in the number of SS books being offered is probably going to come up a couple times in a month and while you wait the quick fingers grabbers may eclipse their month and grab the SS you wanted. As long as you see something that interested you I'd grab it and you will be back in the game in a month. I think the new rule to outlaw mystery boxes will keep things moving a lot quicker since people don't like a mystery when they are putting up a comparable book.

So, for some people it's all about how much you can take and not at all what you can give. I see.

I thought the intent was to post up equal or more than you take? People still want a really cool book so they can post up a even cooler book.

Here in lies the dilemma. If this is truly about 'giving' then no one should care about which offer follows, but most do. The rub is that what is valuable varies, to a construction worker barely scraping up enough to put food on the table and still collect, putting up a $50 offer is no small potatoes, while to a lawyer that wouldn't bat an eye at posting a $300 slab, the $50 offer is . Is this thread truly about giving or outdoing the next guy? Both types of people are on this board and legitimately passionate about collecting, but can both coexist in a thread like this without it devolving into base accusation and name calling? Odds are against it.

I've been lurking through the PIF thread and this one and I can't believe how difficult some boardies are when it comes to claiming and offering things. Practice common sense. If you claim something expensive offer something close to it. You know damn well what "something close to it" is so stop playing games. Can't offer something close to it? Don't claim it then. Want to cry about the notion that this should just be about "giving" and singing cumbaya around a campfire, well here you go then

  4. You're right about the rinse repeat formula that's been used by Kirkman. If you try to think ahead, the only way I can imagine what can happen next are the following two scenarios: a proper civilization finally is created or everybody dies.

Even with internal issues among the group (due to Negan surviving) the story will still seem bland.

Even if Rick were to die, you once again have the formula put into play except another character takes over I.e. Carl.

What more can really be done? Another herd attack? More hunters? Aliens?

As much as I hate to write this, I think it's time this series wraps up.

All goods things have to come to an end.

  5. are you guys serious? Dropping WD because of one book?

It's not after one book, it's being dropped after one Arc.

I personally think Kirkman isn't putting much care into this as before.

Granted he has a lot more on his plate but you have to remember what got you there. He should have taken his time writing this arc out even if it took one issue a month.

The way this shi* ended was pathetic.

All Kirkman cares about now is $$$$

I'm sure as I finished writing this comment, another 20 different #1 variants have been created.

  6. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Manifest-Destiny-1-CGC-9-6-/281314124675?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item417fa0e383

Thanks. Judging by the seller's location and the grade of the book, I'm thinking this is most likely "my" book unless Symbiotic was unlucky enough to get 2 9.6s.

Edit: This is definitely Symbiotic's ebay account as he provided a link to his ebay items for sale in a previous thread.

i've since sent wolfpack06 the refund on the manifest destiny 1. also after shipping out the outstanding books i have had, i'm stepping away from the board and selling for the foreseeable future.

Wasn't this the same guy who admitted to shilling some of his auctions but not all?

  7.

I hope that's not how Negan dies because if it is, that's whack.

Negan should have a more drastic death that sh*t.

My first reaction was shock but I then got confused, we didn't just endure a "war" to simply have Negan get slashed like that.

I mean he deserved to be killed by Rick by using Lucille.

Smh, I really hope there's more to this

  8. I'm really trying to like it but I don't like these episodes where it features on the mini groups. This is a whole different dynamic of story telling than the previous three seasons. I get what they are doing and was ok with it at first but it seems the whole season was shot this way. I guess Abraham won't have much of an impact this season and it will be more so in next season.

The group was separated with no escape plan, were you expecting them to find each other from the get go?

Shows need character development from the supporting cast as well. This second half of the season has shown us who these characters are and the struggles one can endure if indeed one was separated from their group and attempted to find each other.

Remember, Kirkman said he wanted 7 seasons. You just can rush them to Teminus and then all of sudden bring in Negan. It's going to take time as a story should.

  9. Guys I just want to caution you on Sideshow Bob's constant talking of horses in this thread.

While horses may be liked by some, this could just be a scheme to artificially increase the popularity of horses and I would be hesitant to suddenly start seeing horses as this great.

As you can see from the panels... they are only showing one side of the horse. We never get to see the other side.. I wonder why. Something is suspicious.

I'm simply stating facts here. Just want everyone to be weary.

Yeah guys, disregard my Cgc 9.8 Horse that I have up on the eBay. It was extremely hard to get 9.8 so stop paying attention to my horse slab. Please, just stop looking at it. Stop talking about it. Leave my Horse Slab alone.

  10. again, you just don't like it. everyone else in this thread does.

I stand by my contrarian opinion that this statue is not the best representation of the series and would not sell as well as an equivalent statue that featured a zombie attack without one of them having its brains blown out. I would purchase the latter, as would numerous people I know who purchase similar superhero busts and statues. Alas, such a statue does not exist, and looking at the Skybound track record of releasing TWD merchandise, it may never come into existence.

And you know how much sleep Kirkman is going to lose because of that ?

    None. Zilch. Nada.

    Why?

Because the majority of consumers prefer the latter and that's what brings the $$$$

Perhaps if you want you your particular statue, you should go to etsy.com and see if someone will do it for you.
