  1. Really? A 2.0 went for $4263? I missed that one.

Anyways, as you know, I will be a proud member of the Hulk 1 club as soon as this ebay 2.0 Arrives!! WOOHOO!! This has by far been the toughest of the marvel keys for me to find in the grade I want.

  2. I was the buyer of that book. :-) Yes, it was a strong price, but I have been waiting 6 months to find a decent low grade example at auction, and prices have just been through the roof. The last few sales 1.8 sold for $3600 recently....

    and a 2.5 went for $4000 on C-Link

  3. I really envy your beautiful 2.5 nismo!! That is exactly what I am looking for, trying to find something in the 1.8-2.5 range with decent eye appeal. I am having a really hard time finding one for a decent price other than these astronomical BIN ebay examples. If I can find one for GPA, I will be happy...I'd appreciate a PM if anyone knows of one for sale.

  4. That is a nice looking example for a 3.0 Erndog!! It looks like a higher grade to me.

I dont know if it is just the cream background on the cover in the pictures of a TOS39, but these books often look higher than their designated grade to me via pictures.

Anyways, that is me spidervacc, and I definitely got bit by the comic bug! I also purchased a low grade X-men 1 and Incredible Hulk 181. Really keeping my eyes open for an Incredible Hulk 1 blue label with a grade of 1.8-2.5 for a reasonable price.

  5. Thanks for the comments all. The full quote never occurred to me, I'm glad to have this forum to inform me! I looked at 7 or 8 TOS 39 examples on ebay, and none had 2 full quotes. It will be a good thing to remember if I ever need to sell the book.

  6. New purchase!! Woohoo!! I am in the club! I usually like to think my comics are better than the grade, but I fear this one may be slightly overgraded. I am ok with it, as its a great book, but its not as sharp as some of the other 5.0s out there. It is well centered, lays flat, and not a single cover crease other than a very light corner crease, but the spine has some significant wear, and even a few small tears. thoughts?

  7. Very envious of you all. I'd love to be part of this club, and this book is next on my list of lower grade mega-keys. Looking for a blue label 1.8-2.5.

Anyways, I have a question. It always seemed to me that AF 15 and FF1 were the top 2 silver age Marvel Keys. In the auctions that I have been seeing recently (Heritage and ebay), it seems to me, at least in the lower grades, that Hulk 1 is eclipsing FF1 in value! Is this true? What could be the cause of this?

  8. It is pretty nice for the grade. The scan did not cut off anything of note. The chip in the bottom right corner I think is the reason for the grade drop. The spine is sturdy, and creasing seems mild, so Id think it would grade 3.5 or so without that chip. Just my opinion though.
