  1. Hi to you as well Tim :)

I notice people indicate that Foolkiller might have sold this copy too cheap. But on the other hand we don't know how he works. He clearly stated that he is not out to "max out" everything. I also assume it's most likely profits on the sale so the money earned can be invested in other books or projects(so instead of milking 20% more he buy something good). He does as well mention the possible auction fee or listing/agent fee. I would also imagine that he and the buyer will get a better relationship that will come in handy when he comes across other sweet books.

I do not speak on your behalf Foolkiller. Just thinking out loud here.

What makes me happy is that he sold it to the first of 7 possible buyers. I also like the price CC got on their 8.5.

Since I own a HG copy you might consider this bulls'it, but this does not in any way seem like a bubble to me.... Only time will tell.

  2. I think it would be unfair to bidders to post figures but your numbers are at least not far of the range.

The feedback I can give is that it is soooo hard in grade. Not sure how or why, but the little time I spend in here I sense that people seem to forget that highest grade really change the game on key books.

I spent countless hours to get hold of the single highest AF15 9.6 back in the day(is it 3 or 4 now?). The price range from various posts on the boards was close to half of what I considered correct. End of story I wake up to "breaking news" that CC sold it for 1.1kk(I was not even offered the book!). A bit higher than my price, but MUCH higher than what I was reading in here. Now I might be happy that I did not get it; but I still sense that the original old label 9.6 is the best.

Countless times on other important DC silver I hear that "ohh...I had a raw that was just as nice....bla bla...". But with this BB28 you don't really get any of that. So that is why I replied to Foolkiller even if he probably know already.

"Any price" is to stretch it, but it's not really for sale at anything close to current "market value". With the stock market at all-time-high weekly there might come someone along with a mad offer; but if I am earning on rising shares it might even out?

The irony of it all is that I love later sliver more than this book(most of it low value). Also I think that the JLA #1 cover is way cooler the BB28 :)

  3. Foolkiller: I have the 9.4(The old good looking old one, not the new pressed one) and have turned down some offers that is way higher then any(even the wildest) speculations on these 113 pages on the boards have been close to.

Take your time on this book.

    It's mess hot.

This is only a little side-hobby for me but if you want an opinion on the price and/or venue you can msg me.

  4. Hi,

I sold(or are selling) more or less all my Marvel Romance books. I feel the covers are not the same as DC + the 70's covers are weaker then the 60's.

But when it comes to DC silver Romance I think there is nothing in the world of comics that is more under-priced. Judging from what what I have been able to pick up the last years with various dealers and auction houses it seems I am close to the only one.

The covers blows me away but I am embarrassed to say I haven't had the time to check out properly who drew them etc....

Also I have missed out on the art due to work commitment but plan to catch up on that soon.

If you are into high grade DC Silver romance and have stuff for sale please MSG.

    Will post some asap.

  5. GPA have proven to be more a problem then a guide as a few have pointed out.

My time to work with books is very limited but my feeling(frustration!) is "how hard can it be?". CL sales are missing + several other dealers on the boards and other dealers.

Not trying to change anything but it should be fairly easy to have a spider to monitor all that gpa + cl + many dealers.

The impression I have is that many have this already and I am not in the loop. 2013 standard it should be very easy but I have nothing to contribute.

Obviously you would have the fake sales from the rotten apples, but a bigger and wider database should not be a problem. There is not even any advanced stuff....just picking up data.

I also sense that this is probably done by a lot of people already (because it is easy) but I am not in the club ;(

  6. It's not a reprint. I picked it up in Texas along with a lot of other Showcase books. Compared to the 9.2 and 9.0 sales it seemed cheap at the time but we will see some years down the line how the price really was.

I know I say it in every post but I would be happy to post some HQ scans (back and front) in the summer. ATM I only have that of books I am selling as it is more vital.

  7. lol:)

It's not for sale ATM, but in the past I tried to trade it for AF15 in 9.6 (when it was only one 9.6 copy) + I think 350 or 450k (can't remember exactly). It went sour and to my great frustration is sold for 1.1kk @ CC about a year later.

After that I turned down some bids. The problem in this range is that you just don't know the real price for it.
