Are the 9.0 and 9.2 copy of Double Action 2 pedigree copies?

Rofl, good one Aman.. 4/2/04

Those 2 issues prevented me from going after a USA run. They're like Gerber 8's, aren't they?
Brian
-
Do you have USA 7 or 11?
Brian

Hell, even I almost jumped at that.. Then I saw that it was restored.
One of these days I will own a G.A. DC.

I don't know if it was a full run, but I did find a few Thing issues.
Brian

Yeh that's it. So Gold Key and Charlton.

I have a feeling there's some way a Pedigree expert could identify it. Not to mention, I'm sure there's some master list to compare with.

I've been able to find, so far, Gold Key and whatever company published the comic called "The Thing" books from the Pacific Coast so far. Hopefully I can find some more from other publishers. :\

There were temporary drops as you said, but the drops left the pieces still fairly valuable regardless. I was under the impression FF was talking about a drop of value where the piece became basically worthless?
Btw, this also happened to be the period when I picked up a few nice pieces at ridiculously low prices.

I thought O.J Simpson cards became extremely hot after the trial? Could've sworn 60 Minutes or something did a special interest story about OJ memorabilia being white hot after the trial..?

FF the only thing remotely close in the art field is when either, a fake original is made and sold.. or the painter turns out to be someone other than it's signed by.
Brian

Yes, they're worthless

I wasn't replying to you and hadn't read what you said. I was more referring to the inference made that CGC should be 100 percent accurate and that people would be turned off to getting a CGC 9.4 that used to be a CGC 9.2
I'll bet "upgrading" happens more often then not when resale occurs.

The same thing could be said about buying a book raw.. who's to say the book you're buying raw as a 9.2 wasn't sold to the person you're buying it from as a 9.0?

It matters to me, in a non-monetary manner. If I end up submitting a book and getting a 9.0 or 9.2, and I think they're off.. I resubmit.. for the sole purpose of the fact that I'm looking for NM books. If it comes back a 9.4 as I originally thought, than all is well and good. If it doesn't then it means I'm probably wrong and then I'll sell the book and get a replacement.

I think the percentage poll will be a little skewed b/c a person who sent in just one book for resub and got a higher grade would be at 100 percent and skew the % that way.. same goes for if it came back the same, he'd have 0 percent.
Maybe you should do a "how many books have you had come back higher poll?"

I am...
1 out of 4
ASM 122 CGC 9.2 came back a CGC 9.2
ASM 150 CGC Modern 9.4 (this was one of their earlier grades where they were just ridiculously tough on these books) came back a 9.8
Captain America 106 CGC 9.4 came back a CGC 9.4
Hulk 181 CGC 9.4 came back a CGC 9.4

If Wolverine suddenly becomes the least favorite character in the Marvel universe.. the book is in for a world of hurt. The chances of him becoming very unfavorable.. minimal.. the chances of this book plummetting.. minimal.. the chances of this book adjusting some due to the "look" of a large supply? Probable.

I have a PoS Batman comic!

When you make blanket posts like that it makes it sound like you're saying everyone on here had a part in the thread in M.P. which isn't true. So please limit it to the specific people you're addressing, and leave the rest of us out of it. It's nice that you like comics and are going to start buying them again, have fun with it. And good luck w/ the collection!

I haven't had this software for a while b/c I stopped keeping track of my collection online due to time constraints and the fact that my computer kept messing up.. but I've always thought Realms of Wonder was an excellent collection tracking program. For 15 dollars you get any update to the software the guy makes, and he's very active in trying to keep making it more and more efficient. Website is here

I just left a neg for Lighthouse saying that the book he sent me was a photocopied cover and wasn't even in the CGC holder. And the CGC holder held a 9.4 copy of Smurfs #3 that he stole from a certain Darthdiesel.

Thanks for the info, will check it out!

Split CGC case + drastic tempature change = condensation inside

It's always either cold or luke warm here so I keep my books in a controlled environment. Obviously the thing you can't control is the temperature while the book is being shipped to you or beforehand when the person was storing it. At least you know the actual book is safe.. for now.
