  6. Teen-Age Romances #21 (CGC 3.5 with brittle pages) $1300: Classic Matt Baker goodness! This is a spectacular looking book for a 3.5 grade! If you just graded the covers this book would be a 7.5. The notes indicate, “Top interior heavy wraps split/splitting.” Based on CGC’s Grading Guide, the highest grade a book with brittle pages can receive is a 3.5. There should be exceptions for books with outstanding covers.
  7. Adventures Into Darkness #7 (CGC 2.5 with cream to off-white pages.) $500: Another great Jack Katz cover! Jack got into trouble for being too slow in completing his artwork due to the heavy detailing he incorporated in his art. Take a bit of time to study this cover. The details are spectacular as well as the inks which Jack also did. Glad to see Jack’s work getting the attention he was due!
  8. Sensation Comics #107 (CGC 5.0 with off-white to white pages.) $375: SOLD! Comical Situations. Art by Alex Toth, Frank Giacoia, Sy Barry and Carmine Infantino. Overstreet lists this as “scarce”. Creepy Jack-In-The-Box. Highest graded is a single 7.5.

  13. Adventures Into Terror #27 (CGC 1.8 with cream to off-white pages.) $300: Gene Colan terrorific cover! Presents super nice for a 1.8. A bit of spine tear brings down the grade. Only 13 in census!
  14. Master Comics #98 (CGC 9.6 with off-white to white pages. Mile High Pedigree) $5900: Yes, it’s an Edgar Church Mile High!. The colors are amazing! The use of the pink, lavender and purple are an unusual but effective combination for a horror graveyard cover which is also an unexpected genre to see in the Marvel Family line. Love the bat and vulture! This book is tied with the Promise book for the highest CGC grade. However, if you compare the two books you will clearly see that the Mile High book is at least a grade or two higher. What a superb addition this book would make to your personal collection!
  15. Beyond #13 (CGC 6.0 with cream to off-white pages.) $350: As the title says, “Weird, Spooky, Supernatural Stories.” Love this spooky, creepy cover! Great colors! Art by Gene Colon.
  16. Wartime Romances #8 (CGC 5.0 with white pages.) $3200: Another magnificent Matt Baker with white pages! How can simplicity in the use of thin lines, light shading and stunning inks result in such an alluring, gorgeous and captivating depiction of a bikini-clad young lady? The epitome of Matt Baker as the master of “good girl art.” Only two higher in the census.
  17. Unseen #10 (CGC 3.5 with off-white pages.) $450: SOLD! atomised. Cool Jack Katz cover! Jack’s still with us at 95! Tough book to find in the wild. A bit of spine and top edge wear.
