I'll myself collect some of the older Gab books especially the euro panini stuff that is not easily attainable.  I myself have set a challenge of getting a high grade of one of my favorite characters, this Phoenix euro.   I have one already which would probably max out a 7.5 but I do have people on the lookout for a higher grade.(thumbsu

Thanks folks. Spiderman 30 costs a good chunk graded which I was trying to avoid. Not many copies come up raw . When they did it almost certainly was a more beat up version. I was very pleased to get one finally.

Yeah I think I saw like 2-3 copies in the last years...raw...and then maybe the same amount of graded once. Well I was planing on getting your copy...but your bid was higher.

I feel it’s appropriate to show this new acquisition before the upcoming Avengers movie. A hard to book to find these days in the wild and it’s tied for the best Iron Spider Man period with Mike Turners civil war variant. The other is my fav Dell’otto Spiderman cover and image ever. They gotta do something with this cover . It was used only on Italian Spiderman books for his anniversary . Amazing work!

Books being rare based on whether or not they are hand signed/numbered or have production defects (double cover?) is a different conversation.

That wolverine 35 Abo I saw the OA for that on eBay quite a while ago for  $2k.  I kind of regret not buying it then for that I just really wanted a Spider-Man piece by him at the time.  Oh well.  But I do see a half a dozen copies of that Abo version on eBay now (closed listings).  That book is not rarer than ASM 667.  The Batman covers and X men 49 you mention I'm not familiar with.  Can you post or link to an image of those ?

Polirer is right though, the Panini variants are usually in the 2000 range, the lowest I've seen was 500 for that Michael Turner supergirl book with the recycled image of her standing there naked, her cape the only thing covering her up.

Ohhh well the Punisher museum edition ist limited to 499 copies....Spiderman 30 Dell Otto is limited to 777...Thor 1 Geman Variant is 222 or 333...then I think (really not sure right now...have to check that) the Wolverine 8 mit Heroclix is also limited to 333. So there are a few that are more limited. But I think that the french variants are useally limited to around 2000.

Ohh and I will give an update with links to the other comics...but the X-Men 49 is the original Phoenix cover that has been released a couple of days ago.

And the Alien Predator 5 MgP variant cover....I think I have never seen that in real live or on ebay :( But dont really know if itis a low limited comic.

I have quite a few of his European covers. Most of which all indicate a 2000 print run. Which ones are you talking about?

Ohhh there are alot of awesome old and extremly rare covers:

    - Punisher kills the marvel universe museum edition (without numbers hand written on the cover!!! I would guess that maybe 1 or 2 copies exist the rest are all numbered and would not get a blue CGC label)

    - French variant X-Men 49

    - His Batman covers...I think it was number 16 and 25...not really sure

    - Spiderman 10 with the Green Goblin double cover

or my absolute favorite old cover Wolverine 35 Abo Edition :D

    Oh cool side!!!

So you only collect US releases with Dell Otto art???

Why am I asking? There are european covers that are way more rare then the 667...and imho they are the "classic" Dell Otto covers...his origin covers.

  7. Oh boy I just love this discussion about the 667 cover :D

I do not own one and I will probably never be able to afford one and I will never be able to affort an original painting from Dell Otto but still I would say that I am still a true fan!

But what I would really like to know, which is your rarest Dell Otto cover? Rare in meaning of impossible to find on the market or at least really hard to find...and it doesnt matter if it is worth 5 bucks or 100K!

Its just the price box that's different?  I guess its all about your collecting standards.  I would prefer the high grade book over a beater.  If you are collecting just for monetary gain then maybe, and maybe the UK versions are a little undervalued at this point, as compared to the spike in price that is occurring now.

It is just the price box!!!

Well I would also prefer a high grade but I will probably never be able to afford one :( And I d rather have a low AF15 then a high grade Hulk 181.

  9. Should I trade my Hulk 181 for a AF15 UK

    Hi,

I hope somebody here can help with a "problem".

I have been asked if I would like to trade my Hulk 181 CGC 9.4 for a AF15 Uk Edition, not graded. I have been told that the AF15 is somewhere around a 2.0 or lower (have not seen any pictures yet). Since I dont know how rare or how valuable the UK version are I hope that someone here can help me :D

I was rearranging some books yesterday, and figured I might as well take the opportunity to snap a few quick pictures and share my (raw) collection while they were out! This is about a year of seriously collecting Dell'Otto. Please excuse the crappy pictures.
