  1. Ms Marvel is pretty awesome. Don't have that one.

Have you seen the upcoming Red Sonja exclusive with the severed head? That may end up eventually taking the crown for best PF ever:

That's the one I really want, but I think that will exceed my wife's tolerance limit.

Then just show her this one and maybe she won't think Red Sonja is that bad...

I'm waiting to see what the ES is before I pre-order. Super sexy but I'm running out of space to display my statues.

  2. I got an email from sideshow that this one starts shipping in two weeks.

Those Campbell pieces look great. I have the exclusive Spidey on pre-order; I'll probably get MJ and Gwen eventually, but I have too many pre-orders at the moment.

I was pretty close to getting the entire set but after thinking about my collection, I decided not to. I love JSC and these would have been awesome but the combined price was too much and I'm focusing on 1/4's. Still a nice set to have in anyone's collection. Maybe I'll find it down the road for a reasonable price.

  3. Bottom line, if you're into this whole statue thing, Sideshow does the best work bar none. You also get a lot more bang for your buck spending $350-$400 on a 1/4 scale PF rather than $250 for a 1/6 scale Bowen, and this is coming from someone who used to have a large Bowen collection. Don't let the negativity online put you off; I love every one of my Sideshow pieces and I'd have dozens more if space weren't an issue.

I tend to agree, I buy all my Sideshow statues directly from them. Shipping is reasonable to Canada. They have the exclusives and it's better to deal with the directly if there's any problems. Plus, you get 5% back in points you can apply to future purchases.

I think Bowen would be the next one on the list. They make some great stuff, too, and their paint jobs are fantastic, from what I've seen. I have the Jean Grey Marvel Girl and I need to get the recent Ms Marvel's/Captain Marvel's because I love Carol. Carol Corps FTW!

I pre-ordered the exclusive on Day 1, can't wait for Red Sonja to be released. She was one of the best statues at SDCC this year. 1,500 ES is somewhat high for this character but it's got an awesome exclusive. It's also pretty pretty big, tip to base is 27".

I agree with COI that there are a few very vocal people in the statue collecting community that nitpick on the most minor of things. For instance, this morning with the sneak peek video of Wonder Woman was released, people were already complaining about the skin tone. Seriously, if you harp on these superficial things, why even bother spending $400+ on a statue??

  5. I can't decide which SW statue to go after

The Queen Veranke version of the SS is sweet too.

    Advice ?

I was all ready to jump all over the Sideshow PF, I even had my name on the waitlist for the Skrull exclusive. But when it was released and I started seeing in-hand pics, many folks were disappointed with the paint job and the less-than-flush seams where the shoulder rests on the body. I'm glad my waitlist didn't convert, even though I love Spider-Woman.

I actually have the other statue by Bowen. It is gorgeous and with the gargoyle base, it's got a good size to it. I didn't even know about it until I saw a local seller had it up for sale. I've got it sitting next to my Sideshow Spider-Woman LSB. :)

  6. Allo folks!

That's awesome, Kurtis. I'm loving Rat Queens! I don't double-dip often but this is definitely a series where I'm picking up the monthlies and the trades when they come out.

  7. Hi everyone,

I just had a good read of this thread last night and thanks to everyone's comments and inputs and opinions, I decided to source the 8250 off eBay. I have an older printer/scanner but when I dusted it off to try to scan some stuff on the weekend, I realized the surface wasn't even big enough to get an entire CGC slab, plus the scan turned out HORRIBLE.

So thanks all and hopefully I'll be able to contribute some images in the new year.
