  1. Hello,

If I use the Grade PreScreen option, can I specify the minimum grade AND that I would want it to grade as Unrestored (Universal), before it is slabbed OR can you only specify the minimum grade?

    Thank you,

    Ron

  2. Hi All,

My apologies, if this has already been asked, as it has likely been asked many times.

I have a Silver Age Comics (1962), with a CGC Purple/Restored label, with notes Restoration includes: cover re-attached with glue.

If I were to use heat to detach the cover, would a resubmission likely result in a Blue/Unrestored label, now that the cover is no longer attached with glue (although the cover and/or spine could still have glue on them) OR would it still be considered "Restored"?

I do understand that the label would now notate the "detached cover".

    Thank you,

    Ron

Love that you used metric ruler for the pence copy

Nice attention to detail! These are pictures from the seller (that I bought from), who is based in the UK; he stated that he bought it from the original owner, who bought it off the shelf in 1962 (pretty cool).

I actually bought it as a 3.5, but I know how subjective grading can be.

    To whom it may concern/help,

I will say that Mitko was very polite to me, and did send me the exact picture I asked for, below (view from the top, which most don't seem to take on their own); I just can't shake the thought of the book being offered for $2,000 less than it was sold for a few months back (sometimes, one's own greed can override their common sense, which is what I nearly allowed to happen).

If Mitko is legitimate, I wish him and the buyer the best; my suggestion, to him, was for him to start out with a much smaller book, and move up to a larger one, such as this.

  7. I've seen a seller (not here, on eBay) advertise a book as being CGC graded, but the book is not encapsulated (there is only a label).

I looked up the Certification Number, and it is from 2005; my question is to whether CGC offered some type of "grade-only" option then, or if they have never offered it.

My gut tells me that a slab was cracked and this may, or may not, be the book that was encapsulated in said slab...I just wanted a second (or third, or fourth) opinion.

Thanks, in advance, for your help!!
