  1.

Don't see it being any more valuable than any of the other books. The characters in this book are all normal human beings for the most part and very rarely do "normie" books do much.

Plus the first appearance of issue #5 was in Previews & that's doing nothing at the moment

    ;)

I believe issue 5 is the first appearance of Sardu, the Master. If so then it's more than a " normie "

hm I wonder if the strain was previewed anywhere...

Cheers, picked up a NM copy for fairly cheap. Loving that show (thumbs u

  2. I'm sorry, but I just can't let the hellboy thread fade away.

I grabbed my Next Mens (I have 4 complete sets of JBNM) from a box and started sorting them out. Collecting the best ones into a single set and the others into the "readable" copy sets.

Sadly, this isn't even ALL of my JB Next Men 21s. I just got lazy and didn't pull the other couple out of their hiding spaces.

    :(

  3. You didn't see the leaked pilot yet? I think he nailed it FWIW. The only thing not really depicted is Constantine's chain smoking...but it's inferred.

Saw the leaked pilot and I really liked it. He came off a bit prickish but that's his character, and I thought his mannerisms were spot-on. I definitely think this series has potential to be a hit.

Yup. They got the character down quite well from the pages of the book. The flaws and the inner monologue fit quite nicely. The general feel doesn't have any complaints from me as a Hellblazer fan, perhaps just that it won't be set in the UK. It did suffer from some of the things first episodes usually all suffer from e.g. trying to cram in as much as possible into a short space of time to capture the audience or having one or two moments that were definitely more style over content (again to be attention grabbing even if they feel a little out of place). I won't elaborate because people will make up their own minds when they get a chance to see it. Will be watching this one.

I didn't see the leaked pilot. Sounds like I really missed out.

You can still torrent it (thumbs u

  5. So when's a team really a team? When individual players are called up, or when they play together?

My money is on Marvel Presents #3 for the most important GotG appearance outside of their 1st appearance in Marvel Super Heroes #18. 2c

I have to agree that Marvel presents 3 is very important. The problem is, it doesnt start with " guardians of the galaxy" Neither does marvel Two-in-one 5.

Yeah MSH 18 doesnt start with guardians either, but its the 1st app so it doesnt matter. People will find and seek out that book. The others will take some time. Their 2nd app in MTIO 5 is overlooked alot. Their first true " series" was Marvel Presents 3-12 which IMO is the most overlooked and undervalued Guardians books out there. Why a Copy of # 1 of the 1990 series can be more desired than MP 3? Because Its considered their 1st series, and when people look for guardians of the galaxy, it gets more hits that most other books.

I recently purchased 3 copies of MP 3 from an online retailer for $8 each in around 7.0. Meanwhile VF copies of the 1st series were for sale at $10+ on this same site. Shame.

Recommend restocking on Marvel Presents #3 as Marvel released a 2014 promo poster of their 100th Anniversary that shows the old MP 3 GotG team side by side with new team (Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Drax) battling Galactus. :golfclap:

Yup, it happened in the 100th anni guardians issue, cowritten by Andy Lanning (thumbs u

    Silver Galactus! lol

  6. I posed this question on a reply in the General Thread

So when's a team really a team? When individual players are called up, or when they play together?

Like Avengers "We're not a team, we're a ticking time bomb waiting to explode"

Or the Teen Titans....they weren't a team, but were introduced in DC Comics Presents 26.... and an add to show issue one as well (Just Like Annihilation Conquest 6)

It is an interesting question. When was the Avengers team in the movies matched up in the comics. Were Black Widow and Hawkeye ever on the same team as the Hulk ? I'm betting they were at some point but I can't remember it. My money is on Marvel Presents #3 for the most important GotG appearance outside of their 1st appearance in Marvel Super Heroes #18. 2c

I'm gonna have to disagree here. From what I've seen that book is not even remotely desirable. I see stacks of them for $3 at any given LCS that haven't moved at all, even with the movie hype. Two completely different teams, and nobody seems to care about the old one. 2c

Somebody cares to the tune of $269

Wow! Also I should have specified, i meant the GOTG 1. I had no idea mp3 was seeing that much action though!

  8. Was reading the Annihilators Rocket & Groot backup stories for the 1st time today and it turns out that Groot from GOTG isn't the same Groot from TTA 13 so.... what is the 1st appearance of the GOTG Groot?

Fair question since the reason the Hulk Annual #5 isn't taking off is that the Groot in the story was just a robot, so if the Groot in TTA13 isn't the same Groot we all know from GOTG, yeah this is gonna go around in circles

    Care to elaborate?

  9. Hey guys, I have a noob question, hopefully this is the right place for it.

Is it common for artists to not sell specific pages? For some reason I was under the impression that they usually just sell them all, but I suppose they might keep a few that they really like.

An example; after reading Moon Knight #4 I set out to find pages 8 and 9 by Declan Shalvey only to find that they weren't on the website at all, and it usually marks sold pages as sold but leaves them up.

    Cheers
