Just got this for $75. Think I'll paint up with comic stuff. Kinda a rare find.
That is awesome and I agree that it would look better refinished. It also looks like it's going to be a beast to move. Good luck!

According to Whedon, there will be surprise Marvel characters in Avengers 2.
Get ready, because whoever they may be, their books will explode once leaked.

Here's to hoping this guy appears in a post credits scene.
I sure hope so, I picked up first MODOK a few weeks ago. He's great, visually. Can't wait to see that giant head on screen.

This wasn't at a flea market or garage sale or anything, but I was surprised and pleased to snag a lot of 10 Cap books for $6 on eBay and have these three inside. First Crossbones! VF/NM.

This thread always rocks! So great to see and read about everyone's treasure finds. The last couple of weekends we've visited my better half's folks in Daytona; they love to check out flea markets and antique malls and tell me where comics are found. While a big GA or SA find is still elusive... these will do nicely. There's a small flea market on Ridgewood (I think) that the last issue of Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot Gold and Smithsonian book were found. Sleepwalker was at an antique mall.
Nice finds. I have that Smithsonian book and it is beautiful.

I despise u but
This is my new favorite quote. I will try to use it in conversation whenever possible.
That's going to be odd in real life conversation. "I despise you, but golfclap.gif."

' I am also firm on my price so don't ask I took them to a comic shop to see what they were worth and they said as a lot 120 was fair I want them gone asap "
why didn't they just sell them to the LCS?
Yeah, no clue. Probably thought he could get more, walked out, never got around to selling them and didn't want to go back to the LCS. People are weird (especially on CL).
And yeah, that Bats in that photo is so out of place among all that other junk. "I bought a lot of crappy Harvey comics as a kid and one awesome Batman."
-
Nothing that I've found, but a heads-up on some nice books on CL I spotted. I'd go grab them myself, but I can't drive that far down south due to family issues. Anyway, any South Michigan boardies might be interested in:

If anyone snags 'em, let me know.

Very nice bronze collection! How large is that Savage Sword run? Great reading there.

Never had a bad experience with a comic creator, but Larry Niven (sci-fi author) was sort of rude to my friend and I at Motor City about a decade ago, but the story isn't that interesting. Shooter was very nice when I met him, and Walter Koenig gave me a sort of half-snarl half-grimace when I got his autograph (snagged when his handler wasn't around, so no $40 charge for me. Score!)
If I ever meet Neal Adams I'm gonna have him sign a book about the origin and formation of the earth. I wonder how he'd react to that.
(Adams has some pretty far-out-there non-scientific ideas on the formation of the earth that he expounds upon when given the chance)

My first ever submission! Had them pressed first. The MP7 got a 6.0-6.5 in the Please Grade Me forum and came back a 6.5 ow/w. The MP4 shocked me: I had it pegged at 7.5-8.0, but it came back a 9.2 ow/w! Very, very pleased.
-
Actually found something at the antique store yesterday worth reporting. $7 for both.
Teen Titans isn't much better than a 6.5, but still nice. Darkhawk is probably 9.0, 9.2.
(Sorry for the crappy phone pic)

One of these days I will get around to posting a video of the proper ways to dry clean a comic. I don't think this information needs to stay so esoteric.
This would be most welcome. It's something I've always wondered about and have seen many ask about. I have a few beater books I've experimented with, and the results have not been impressive.

Because there's money flowing, lawsuits are following: Frank Darabont suing AMC for "millions" because of Hollywood accounting.
Loved this line at the end of the article:
"It’s a particularly far-reaching and nasty lawsuit that hopefully will be resolved soon; after all, The Walking Dead isn’t about people arguing."

Any opinions on this interesting CL listing?
"I'm selling my deadbeat ex-boyfriend's comics to make up for the back rent he owes me."
This would make me stay far away, since they are probably not her's (legally) to sell. And....if he's a deadbeat, there's always a chance you'll be, you know, "beat dead". Stay away!

I mostly read military history, and right now I'm reading Ivan's War by Catherine Merridale. I'm a WW2 Eastern Front nut; the majority of non-fiction books I read in any given year are WWII related.
Fictionally, I've just about finished Fall of Giants by Ken Follett.
-
Great story, and I was an absolute nut for it as a kid when it came out. Bought the sweet t-shirt that had Thanos from the cover of #4 on the front breast and the cover of #3 on the back.
Silver Surfer #55 has a great alternate story, and Warlock and the Infinity Watch #1 has the epilogue, which caps it off nicely. Infinity War and Infinity Crusade and Infinity Abyss are best avoided, in my opinion.

I'm Jeremy. Been a voyeur on the boards for a few years now. Signed up a week or two ago when I found out you can disable people's signatures from showing up. That was enough to get me to sign up.
.....but I do miss that Veronica Belmont picture.

I think 18 and 21 were low print runs, but I don't think they go for very much these days.
Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...

Clearly a typo. It's supposed to be Wal-verine. He guards Michigan Wal-Marts. Get it right, people.
