  1. hey guys I decided to make this thread because of the previous posts I made with consignments wanted, x-men 1 for sale and so on so I will take the best advice that someone gave me on this forum. I will prove myself to be trustworthy by making transactions with people and also since people don't really know who I am or anything about me so I decided that you can ask me anything to get to know me better!

  2. the tourney is not a good indicator of the best team. it's all about what bracket you get in.

    conference was weak
Sorry G.A.tor. The old Big East strikes back, I guess. 18-0 in the SEC was an incredible run.

but the top 2 teams represent 50% of the final four... and 3 out of 8 in elite... I'd say pretty good representation

  3. Jerry Stephan does the raw grading at heritage (or at least he used to).

a scatter plot would have been more beneficial in this presentation. for two reasons:

    a) you wouldn't need to compute the standard dev. by hand; you'd simply insert a lin reg. and you'd have your formula. the stan. dev would tell you how closely one dealer grades in comparison to another.

    b) one could use that formula and then they would be able to determine the probability of buying a book out of this pool and the chances of it being under or over graded. which could actual be quite useful if planning on submitting to CGC in the future.

I could be wrong on this but I don't think Steve is doing the raw grading at heritage.
  4. D2 def has issues. put it this way. for every 3 books they sell they are off by an average of 4 point-grades. that's a lot of money loosely hedged out there (put up for grabs) and puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the buyer to scrutinize and make sure they know what they are getting. that they can accurately grade themselves.

if D2 can avoid the return, they are bound to be making some serious coin because of the consistent overgrade.

I don't care how the dealer grades it as long as I want the book in question at the price quoted. 2c

I guess my first question to you would be why did you continue to spend money with D2 if they were consistently overgrading? Addiction?

  5. filter81 I don't want to stick my nose in your business, but I think it's time you contacted an attorney. I would. Sounds like you are in the mid-stages of a five-figure scam and you should definitely try to get closure on this before silvers bounces for Thailand.

On August 5th I wired you a $12,500 deposit for a book which I have still yet to receive or even be allowed to see. Under our written agreement, we agreed that as soon as I paid the deposit, I would be allowed to inspect, finish paying for, and pick up the book. I immediately wired you this money in good faith, because you told me you needed it right away. You told me that you needed money to send to your wife so that she could close on a house in Thailand and get back home from there. After I paid you, you changed the terms of our deal and told me I could not inspect the book, but that the book was being sent into CGC instead. When that didn't happen either, you have spent the past 5 months telling me repeatedly that you couldn't pay me back because SparkleCity owed you a lot of money from books you consigned to them that you were never paid for. Now it is difficult for me to even get you to respond to phone calls or texts. Since it turns out what you told me is not true, and you have been paid by Sparkle City for all your consignments with no problems, and I have still not been made whole, I'm just wondering when I can expect you to resolve this matter.

    Thanks
