How much trade value do you want for your comic? FYI, there is an official trading/buying/selling forum below.
The problem with trading is that usually one person thinks his stuff is worth top dollar, while your stuff is worth GPA from three years ago. Not saying Mark is going to do this; it's just that trade is rarely an equality event and there's lots of back and forth...usually with no agreement.
True, true. He most likely wants what he paid, which, if I recall correctly, was a king's ransom.

He told me that the DC titles he had anywhere from 10-20copies of each.
That's what it says on the certificate, no?

Sweet book, looks like a nice find. Bobcat has a nice one listed this week along with some other purdy BA horror books.
Oh God, so much for Sterling going cold turkey.

I'm just saying no....they can find someone else to fork over the dough. I'm done this year anyway. I'm calling it "Pete's Rule".
Right...........Until the next gems pop up. Long way to go 'til the end of the year.

at least it is the new label so I don't need to reholder.
Doesn't old label equal better chance of higher grade on re-submit?
I know that PC copy of HOM 176. I personally think it's accurately graded. Your statement is an urban legend, and has no basis on fact. I've seen plenty of undergraded (and overgraded for that matter) books in both labels. Take each book on a case by case basis.
Correct. If anything, perhaps older labels may be more susceptible to being slab damaged.

9.6 WP
What BS. How can that book get that grade with those defects? Freaking Hell, you're like Heritage for getting gift grades.

They might be pulling your leg.................I hope.

Hey, I'm becoming like Shiverbones recently, just barely making an appearance from time to time. I just wanted to "check in" and say " " and " " to the boyz. I feel as if I've been neglecting my "comic side" recently for my other collecting interest, bass guitars. The comic fever has left me temporarily, but it'll be back soon enough and I'll be joining you guys again at that time. In the meantime, keep up all the posting as I am often still reading along . I also hope that some of you will be in San Diego coming up in July as I'll certainly be there. Andy, hook up with your cousin and make the trip, it's well worth it.
Didn't even notice you were AWOL. J/K.

Apparently there is a buyer at the $575.
CL bid prices can be shilled & are not reflective of true market value.

I can tell you that I did not see any of the BA horror raw and I was there right after Ewert in SD. Of course, it could have been part of the prescreen rejects that Steve said was going to be offered in Chicago. I'm sure that Bob Storms got a lot of the earlier HOM and HOS books from the prescreen pile. I can't see anyone else other than the Ewert/Brulato stock producing these books. They bought a whole long box at SD.I've bought some raw Rosas from B Storms and they are very nice. I would say they were CGC candidates. What was the criteria Steve used in sending (or not sending) in the books he did? It wasn't a pre-screen for a certain grade was it? Have to check out my winnings from tonight when I get them.I agree--I actually have some Don Rosas from Bob that I've just sent to CGC (2 or 3 WWT books). I know Sid has had some success picking these up from Steve and getting decent 9.4 grades--which was the general cut off for Steve's submissions (he did sell a few 9.2s).
However, if you take the DR books from this batch and hold them up to what Steve was selling, something just looks amiss. My opinion though--and I'm not pointing fingers anywhere---just an observation. Maybe Steve didn't send these in because of the QP issues.

Steve said that he did a 9.4 prescreen. However, there were some books with lower grade but those were usually the higher priced keys like the 8.5 Hulk 181 and HOS 92 and some of the harder to find books. It wasn't a pre-screen for a certain grade was it? Have to check out my winnings from tonight when I get them.Yeah, I have a hard time finding Hulk 181 and HOS 92...

After looking at some of these issues, it seemed apparent to me that quite a few are pressed.
JE's stash of Rosa's from SD 2005?
exactly. People apparently forgot that Steve picked out the candidates. Steve would've graded these if they were this great. These looked like they were brought up to their full potential---the color breaking creases look like they are screaming, pancake looks, etc.
What's Josh's policy on selling Ewert's books? Did he make an official CL statement on that?

Some nutjob placed an outright bid for $573, hence the astronomical bid jump from $91 to $573.

somebody got a sweel deal on that 9.6 for $140...basically at a 9.4 price.
Not really, prices will continue to come down as more show up. Those who buy first will pay the nosebleed prices & those who wait will benefit from the market adjustment/correction.
Compared to what I paid they did. Got a tissue?

What is the deal with this issue? Did Heritage find a stash or something? There are more 9.6s (12) than 9.4s (10) in the census and I have noticed them busting them out in their recent auctions.
Holy Crud! So much for these comics being "rare" in hg.

Hi guys. I don't want to try to push any books in this thread but.......I thought I would give you all a heads up in case you are interested. I just listed the Don Rosa copies of Limited Collectors' Edition #23 (House Of Mystery) and #32 (Ghosts) on Ebay with Buy It Nows. I have no idea what the demand will be on these, so if anyone is interested, here ya' go.

I too have a CGC 9.6 copy of Forbidden Tales of Dark Mansion #10, and it also says Marvel Comics. I have seen a 9.4 copy on Ebay before that also said Marvel. It is obviously a database problem that they have not corrected, so don't worry about the grade being incorrect, they just simply need to update their database and input the correct manufacturer.

Sterling pays big bucks for his comics, the label is everything.

That's freaking ridiculous. $112 for a VF+ advertised as NM??? Who cares about the other comics, you got arse-raped on the HOS 89. No attempt at rationalizing will change that fact.
