There is a significant difference in margin depending on which side of the equation you are on.

Store owners selling at $10-$20 (Larry's variants are typically the lowest of any store variant) are making decent money per issue. Flippers are not (which is part of the reason why I think store sales are down since they lose that market and in moderns I think the flippers are significant)

Standard covers at $4 ish can bring pretty good margin for a "hot" book or spec book

This is despite a higher print run.

Are we seriously at the point in this hobby where colouring books can be counted as a 1st appearance

 

Let the crazies chase what they chase. It leaves other books for us.

Agree.. I can't imagine those getting that high either. 100 was everywhere for a while. 9.8 in 2nd Print I think will be a good one. Rarely see one

It would make sense at the end of the season to tease Negan (just showing a shot of Lucille) in similar fashion how they teased the Prison and Michonne. The value of 19 skyrocketed in price after that. Doing the same in my opinion would cause 100 2nd and 3rd prints to jump big time..
