    How dare you!
One of the only nicest things that happened to me last year from the people on here and you have to pass judgement on me (and them) because I don't like an average movie.
What do you want me to do? Send my award back to Dena, when I don't like a movie you like. Or do you want me just to scratch your name on it and forward it right to you?
What kind of "contributions" can I do on here, Bosco that would be to your liking? I have done everything within my power to brighten various people's lives when I could throughout my time here.
I just think you are a selfish person, that has to have everything go your own way.
Every time, I consider trying to make an amends with you, you post something like this.
Well, rest assured now. I HATE YOU!
God, you make me not even want the thing anymore.
Thanks for ruining something that I thought I won for being just myself.

Yup. It was a terrific movie.
Not a huge fan of them changing up the original supporting cast so much but I understand that they have to do it for contemporary audiences.
Keaton - as if he couldn't get any better, just kept getting better. Batman, , Betelgeuse, Birdman and now Vulture. How many times can an actor reinvent himself in contemporary pop culture? Apparently nobody except for Keaton. He was magnificent.

Are you making excuses for the sale price?
If it didn't have issues it wouldn't be a 6.5. It's a mid grade book, not a high grade book.
It was a decent looking 6.5

Their flagship show, Chicago was a complete bust. It started looking like Philly when Philly started going downhill.
There were many empty, unsold booths in Chicago which would have been unheard of even last year or two years ago.
Philly was comparable to Chicago 10 years ago. It's now a flee market.
I suppose if they don't make it it will help other shows as lately there have been waaay too many shows people anyone to keep up.

I generally call 7.0 and 7.5 books high grade, because at arm's length they do look high grade.
They're definitely not low grade and most of them don't look mid grade.
    But to each their own.

I'll add that it doesn't matter what the issue is with children, the principles are the same.
We're subjective human beings and as subjective people, we have a general tendency to take what we can get and constantly evolve our needs. As adults you learn to choose better with experience but children don't have that experience.
As parents, it's our jobs to teach children their boundaries and those lessons are usually the toughest to teach them but they are also the most rewarding.
Giving in to the wrong things will only reinforce to children that they can push those boundaries and exacerbate the issue.
Holding your ground and sometimes saying no is the toughest thing I've had to do as a parent, but it really is the difference between good parenting and bad parenting, IMO.
    Great conversation.

Jim, I took a similar stance on some things with my kids as well.
I told them, at some point I will not bail them out of poor decision making and they will have to learn the hard way.
It's a tough thing for a parent to do but they need to find their own boundaries on their own or they never will.

Doug has consigned nearly $1MIL in books in this auction. There's no facts but it certainly looks like it's Doug.
Anybody looking to flip a record price book a few weeks after setting a 'record' winning bid....well, that's tough to swallow.

I always say that high grade starts in the VF range, so 7.0 (F/VF) because most VF range books look extremely high grade at arm's length with just a few small defects.
Like wise, for me VG range is already mid-grade so low grade stops at 3.0 / 3.5 and midgrade starts there and goes to 6.5
Low grade books look low grade
Mid grade books look mid grade
High grade books look high grade

Chipping is taken into account in all grades.
The lower the grade, the more chipping that is allowed in a given grade.
They may not weigh it the way you would but they do weigh it.

I worked for Mercedes Benz for 11 years.
My dad's 1st car was (I think) and 1958 Mercedes Benz 220 S in 1960 when he emigrated into Salzburg, Austria at the age of 20 (random pic from the internet).

My uncles used to co-own a 280 SE as an investment (random pic from the internet)

My favorite Benz was themid 1990's 124 body Benz's. They were handsome and bulletproof (random pic from the internet).

I don't think I'd ever use a Pedigree auction as a barometer of the market, whether the price is high or low.

There were 3 record sale prices in that March CC auction that sparked the new price craze. All copies were exceptional for the grade (1 upgraded for sure, the other two were likely attempted). None of the copies that did not look exceptional for the grade set records.
Then there were a few other mid grade sales that got posted to GPA that also helped spark the price hike. Like the 7.0 that went for $65K in Nov 2016, but for some reason wasn't posted on GPA until this year. It also looked exceptional for the grade.
