  1. Just an update, I got in touch with Melissa and I believe they're going to make it right/ they have the book again.  The crack in the inner sealed plastic was the more concerning issue.  It seems like it could possibly damage the back cover with time.  Once that was fixed, the scuffs were really just frustrating after having it mailed back and forth 4 times.   If I got the book back the first time with just the scuffs I wouldn't have been as ticked off over it.

  2. I'd like to preface this summary of events with the statement that I am usually not very nit picky.  But given the cost of grading and value of the book, I find this unacceptable.  It's also strange given how many slabs I've gotten back ok.  For whatever reason they can't fix this one book.  How many months will it take?

    1) Crossover CGC Submission sent April 20.  I get from a 7.0 in other holder to a 6.5.  I'm ok with it.

    2) May 17 I get the book back.  The inner well plastic holder (inside) has a crack in it, over a portion of the back cover.  I'm worried it will damage the comic so I ship it back.  Mechanical Error #1.  See pics.

    3) June 16 I get the book back a second time.  They literally just kept the book for a month and mailed it back.  It's exactly the same.  Except this time I do notice the book moves around a bit inside the holder.  Mechanical Error #2.

    4) July 24 I get the  book back a 3rd time.  The crack is gone, but now back cover, once again, inner well, has all of these scuffs everywhere on the inside.  Also, it still moves around inside just a little.  Re: Scuffs, If you shine it over light you see it.  There's quite a few.  The pic shows it but there's even more as you reflect under the light.  Very similar to a post I saw on the forums from someone else posted July 16 for a venom lethal protector gold cover.

Waiting on a call back now from CGC.  Customer Service escalated....  How much time and money and shipments and waiting, insurance, does it take to get it right?  What's the point in all of this if there isn't someone looking at the comic before it's sent?  And on High Dollar books, have someone a bit more senior.

Just wanted to share my experience.  I'm completely underwhelmed and feel like my time and money has been wasted.  It makes me want to just focus on other investments  (I'm a collector and reader but when a book is this expensive...)

Thanks for reading, and pray for me.  I've lost faith.

  3. Here is my book that id like to submit a to CGC for crossover grading.

I have a question regarding the 07- mark. It looks to be grease pencil.  Is this something that could be removed with a clean / press?  Perhaps it is what smudged the bottom right as you see some light smudge too.

Should I even bother?  Im unsure if a clean and press would help this book get a higher grade.  I am hoping to match it at a 7.0.

Im wondering whether to just do crossover or to go all out...  Thanks for taking the time!  The book looks great In person.

Good lesson in life to always keep learning.  I have an uncle who worked at 7-11 and injured his back on the job.  Got full disability off it, but he was still functional. I asked him why he doesn't get another job and he replied, "Why?".  So for 30 years or so, he lived off the 7-11 checks in the mail.  The entire time, my dad told him to use to down time to learn another trade like computers or learning about stocks.  He refused and simply spent his time watching movies.  I don't know the details, but somehow last year the checks stopped coming.  Now he is broke and asking relatives for money.  Imagine what he could have done with his life instead of wasting it all on movies.

he probably knows a lot about movies tho!

That chip in the spine is rather distracting for a 7.5.likely factored into the pricing despite that pos sticker on the case.

lol whats up with that sticker?  why would they award that 7.5 the honor of the sticker if its missing a piece out the side?

How does QES work?  You just pay them to get the sticker?
