Yes.  I’m much happier with this.

Despite having a largish comic book collection, I’ve realised that I’m primarily interested in reading the stories in the most stress-free and accessible manner possible, without being impeded by scarcity, worrying about condition, or being enslaved to the expense of the secondary physical comic market.  Also, due to disability issues, I’m content with avoiding journeys to comic shops and conventions.

Given my circumstances, it’s working well.

Ah i see nice man i'm all digital myself lately anyway :)

I'm pretty much exactly the opposite.

The tablet I use is extremely light, large, and I enjoy reading comic books and the daily news on it.

Just a different type of tactile.

Just curious you still do all Digital ?

Since you are a modern collector. That means newer comics. The question you need to ask yourself. Are you collecting single issues for the value investment or for to read? For me, there is no great value to collect modern single value after 1990. So if I want to read, I buy cheap or used TPB volumes for the reason. TPB volumes don’t have collectible value in there anyway.

Again, there is also the question of space to keep your comics. It is all about value versus space. You want to maximize value as much with little space. A room of all $1.00 modern comics by value in boxes that will never see great value ... or a few boxes of high value older vintage comics that will increase value over time?  I certainly don’t want lug so many boxes of $1.00 books all the time. It gets old fast and too much anyway. Why work so hard for so little?

Having a good bookcase of great TPB books to read is the way to enjoy your time reading, not having to worry about their value.

Hi Just curious if you feel the same way nowadays in 2019 as you did then ? Since prices go up quickly nowadays on some modern books .

I had the run from issue # 6 to about 70 something as I had a subscription back then. I gave 95 percent away in 2002 to a friend who lost his 30 yr collection in a freak dryer lint fire. I did keep a few random issues #7 Flash Variant, # 11 Spawn, #14 Women of Marvel from that time, and Issue # 42 Alex Ross Heroes Gatefold Wrap Around Variant are the ones off top of my head. I don't see the #7 Flash Variant much at all. Whenever I see #7, it's always for the X-O Manowar cover. My uncle gave me the Flash version and kept the X-O cover before I ended up subscribing after # 10.

Wow that's terrible about what happened :(  :o you are a awesome friend though to do what you did man props to ya. :)

Yes. It actually gave me a headache the other day looking at it.  I think it's the bright white look of it.  Again, the "beta" is significantly better than the initial roll out and the breaks between posts is more noticeable now.   I think that once (if) we're given the option to change some of the colors/settings, it will be ok.   But the white/ligh-light grey/light grey color scheme isn't working for me.

I love the boards (they're the only message boards I've ever joined that I stayed on longer than a month or two; 15 years, in fact!), but not enough that I'm going to accept getting a headache from reading/participating on them.

Hi if you use firefox try this ad on it works good for cganging the background color :)https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/color-that-site/

Is it really that shocking given today's political climate that people would not want the same political ideology from either side of the isle shoved down their throats when reading comics?  Back in the 60's & 70's comics were a great medium for this, but in this day and age, where we're almost oversaturated with it between the 24hr news cycle and social media, I think most people that read comics would like to use them as an escape from real world issues.

Not hating the new boards at all --  it's just taking me some time to adjust.

One thing is do really miss, though, is clicking on a thread title and immediately landing on the most recent post.

Am I missing something?  Maybe there's an adjustment for this... (shrug)

Mainly the white background is the issue kinda harsh on the eyes
