Thank you so much for the advice and info! I have mainly been a silver age collector, but in the past few years have really been drawn to golden age book, especially pre-hero DCs and the Atlas era horror titles. The war books are pretty new to me, and I only have about one or two. I looked through the Atlas Tales site and I really liked the titles (especially Battle and Battlefront). Heath and Maneely put out some great work and I might try to focus on those first.
Merry Christmas, Drew

Fantastic books! Makes me really want to focus on Atlas war comics in 2017.

Despite liking his earlier work for Timely and Centaur, I just do not like Everett's Atlas work. I feel like he was outdone by Heath and Maneely.

This is one of my favorite threads.
I don't know why, but looking at rat-chewed comics just makes me giggle.
Sadly, many of the pics in this thread are no longer active - maybe the original contributors can update them?
Anyway, just found this beauty in a new holder.
Post 'em if you got 'em.
That's not rat chew; it's damage from the new holder!

I'd have to say Marvel 1. Big fan of the Ka-Zar story and the cover.

That's such a great cover.

The CoC 19 is one that I just don't get. Is the demand driven by Misfits fans? Not to denigrate the cover, but it wouldn't even be on a list of my top 50 favorite PCH covers. There are still a LOT of overlooked covers that don't have nearly the demand. Add to that the fact that they are incredibly hard to find in grade. Some that are hard to find at all.
I honestly don't think it has much at all to do with the misfits, its just a great cover that clearly stands out in that run and again there is a herd mentality to grab the classics before getting priced out, without enough to go around, prices will continue to climb unless people wake up one day and decide the cover is overrated and overprices and decide all at once to dump them on the market en masse....I wouldn't hold my breath.
What is the connection to the Misfits?
They used the cover for their Die Die My Darling 12".
Huge fan of the Misfits and I think CoC 19 was a great choice for that cover.

Wow! Both great pickups. Especially like the Suspense. I feel like that series had some of the best covers during the Atlas PCH run.

Wow! That's an awesome cover. Never seen that one before. Love the feeling the painting style gives to it.

Wow! Great books. For such a great cover, the actual story for AM 32 just doesn't live up to it sadly:(

We also open against Wisconsin in Dallas this season as well.

Hi! I'm Drew and i am a long time lurker on the boards but decided to finally make an account! I am a freshman in college and I have just switched my comic focus from Amazing Spider-Man and decided to branch off into the giant universe of what else is out there! My current interests include the Dell Four Colors, pre-hero books, pre-code horror, all eras of Batman, and whatever else awaits me! Nice to meet y'all.
