That's a drop-dead gorgeous piece, Panelfan1. One of my favorite books.
Just acquired this one from Valerie D'Orazio, Darwyn Cooke's editor on Selina's Big Score, on eBay ... against some bidders I suspect were from this board, too :P Just beautiful. Thanks for not bidding it any higher folks
CAF link here.

Hi Rich, can you check your PMs? Wanted to check on some orders I made with you that never were resolved.
-
A S/S Stan Lee CGC 2.0 First appearance of Black Panther (T'Challa) going on my eBay right now-- get your copy of Fantastic Four #52.
-
I'm moving to a new apartment and sadly that means selling some of my more cherished comics.
Keeping my CGC 9.8s of hers, but I'm selling 9.6s of Carrie Fisher Signature Series on eBay. Closes Sunday.

3 were prearranged ?
Very nice! Those are always the best ... get to just wander the show a little less stressed out. The trick is getting 'em to respond to you...

Thanks! I've always loved his inking style.
Classic Catwoman is my absolute favorite!! That's an amazing acquisition... that inking on the panther The hard part is figuring out where to hang it I'm sure
Re: JSC auction ... that was a cutthroat finish. I almost regretted the purchase when it came time to pay rent this month ... almost.

After a few years of failing to get on JSC's list, I finally went for one on the four-letter auction house. No regrets-- it's beautiful. Maybe someday I'll get on that list ...

Hey, I picked up your Runaways page today! Glad we're both boardies. You had some great stuff, but I've got a budget

Is she going to be there? I don't see her name on the list of special guests or Artist Alley.
Hey there-- she emailed me asking me whether I could pick it up at WonderCon (apparently some of her pieces have been crushed in the mail), so I assume she's going to be there! Unless there's another WonderCon out there I'm not aware of, I guess
EDIT: Just asked her over e-mail whether she's going herself or will be represented. Will update!

Hey all, anyone able to pick up a sketch for me from Elsa Charretier? If so, please PM me and let me know what your fee for pickup + shipping would be. Cheers!
-
I have a commission from Elsa Charretier that I need picked up at WonderCon 2017 in Anaheim this year. Please PM me if you are able to pick it up and do let me know what your fee is for pickup + shipping
Cheers!

Sending it in! I take it checks should be made out to Desert Wind Enterprises? + 40 for grading and + 25 for shipping, so an additional 65 per book basically? What if we want to submit on our own account?

One day I'll be able to make the trek from California...

Saw this last night with the lady. There were plenty of happy kids and geeks alike in the theatre. If you're a fan of obscure Batman villains, let me tell you ... this is the film for you.

For me, it's the matter of originality. I had a nice talk with Mick Gray about this at a signing. Apparently, someone had tried to convince Mick to ink over some pencils Jack Kirby had done. Mick, bless his soul, refused outright, asking him to at least consider scanning the pencils if he really wanted them inked (i.e. he'd ink over the scans, like a blueline). Well, the guy seemed to take it personally, and went off to find someone else to ink over them. Hopefully, nobody agreed.
When it comes down to it, coloring over inks or inking over pencils might be more aesthetically pleasing to you, but that also eradicates any aesthetic value the piece had before the additions, not to mention the ability to look at the piece "before" it was colored ... especially if it's by someone like Jack Kirby. It's the same reason why people will still buy black and white versions of covers, even though a colored one exists.

Is the fact that Saga does not have original comic art pages available make the comic book more desirable and expensive ?
Feels mutually exclusive to me-- although it does make a little sense considering that until recently, they didn't really have much in the way of actual merchandise to buy. So the only thing you could buy was the comics

I don't expect this to be a big gain at all, but given this is Pre-Heat Speculation, I believe Green Arrow #14, out today, is the first appearance of a particular Arrow character in the mainstream DCU (i.e. not TV tie-ins):
Malcolm Merlyn.

That is a BEAUTIFUL Smitty piece.
And as for the "quick sketch," I'm afraid I meant to type "quick post" ... because it was definitely a commission, ha!
-
Quick piece from the indomitable Mr. Michael Lark. I'm very happy with it. Renee Montoya is one of my favorites.

Heh, I want this and at least it's for a good cause.
Wish I knew they were doing this variant. Would've preordered 5 copies. While I do have Mockingbird #8 (I seem to be one of the few who actually cared for that title), this homage is so much cooler.

I'm sure this heated up a few folks I'm on board, though. In for at least one.
