I hope you get that price. It’s worth it. I have a coverless missing the CF that came with a married back cover from an old Tec 27 1.0. I look at it maybe once a year.
Wow,,,
Congratulations on your book!!
I still like your estimate!!
Not to many of these around even coverless or near complete.
The front cover only missing a chunk sold for over 200K a while back! Incredible and probably worth it for long term investment.

I’m the proud owner of this Detective #27. I purchased the book in 2003 and time to let it go!
I decided to go the auction house route because it’s difficult to price out for a potential private deal. I chose Comic Link because it was my go to when I was buying books in the day. I started auctioning off books there around 6 months or so. Nothing but professional service and fast payments after books sold!
CGC is accurate in their grading notes but it was hard to tell if the centrefold was married. The centrefold pages seem consistent with the page quality and sizing of the margins compared to the surrounding pages. The spine margins are slightly brittle but the rest of the interior pages are supple and off/white pages.
I took some photos of the interior pages before CGC slabbed the book
Here are the Batman pages from the book! -

Yes, it will be in a CGC slab before considering selling.

Unfortunately I considered not to bid
If I wanted to invest and keep for 5 or 10 years then I would pursue.
Actually I may consider Auctioning my coverless sometime in the next year or two in a Comic Link focused auction. 💪

I thought that price was pretty soft for a high grade TEC #69.
Still a lot of money! Considering the past two TEC #69’s in CGC 6.5 grades previously reported sales in the $28,000 to $30,000 range.
You would think discretionary money would push this book North of the 50K range.Very good buy for sure!!

I saw the Ebay post but I don’t know if it’s a confirmed sale or the add time expired?

The big problem with this book is the spine unfortunately. Brittle edges at the top and some brittleness on other areas of the spine. The page quality is better and supple going away from the spine. The colours are pretty good going away from the spine, being somewhat off-white/white in most areas.
CGC will classify brittle if noticed anywhere on a given book.
I think slightly brittle is telling the book has some brittleness but not in whole?
