  1. it was hard to tell how much of carol was her acting to get redhead to let her guard down thinking she had a pathetic prisoner or how much carol is starting to lose her killer edge. obviously she has lost some edge as she almost got killed twice not shooting redhead right away.

to think, this is the person who almost single handedly wiped out the terminus cannibals!

as for glenn....i wonder if there is a little pressure not to kill off the only male asian leading actor on television? (and i understand he is not "the star", but he is a pretty core star on the show) were i an network exec at amc i'd be begging kirkman not to. unless he is going off to star on some other show...but please don't unemploy the guy...what about maggie and the baby!!!?? who is going to do suicide runs to find baby formula and diapers?

Glenn could always be killed off and return for a whole season just like ghost Lori. :roflmao:

    Ghost_Lori.jpg

Or move him to Fear the Dead....

  2. Daryl is way more popular than any of the others...I can see them sticking with the Glenn death....and they're not going to take out Maggie and the baby, she already survived one kidnapping they won't put her or Carol in danger like again until the War starts.

So I predict Abraham and Glenn are the next to die. I think if they killed Daryl the ladies watching the show would make a mass exodus. I know Kirkman has said he doesn't care and anyone can die...AMC might be weighing in some and vetoing any crazy out of the norm killings.

Ah, but this is where Jesus comes into play. Sure women viewers could decline due to the loss of Daryl...but only the crazed psychos who threaded to kill Kirkman and AMC lol The rest I think will be captivated by Jesus.

  3. Weird seeing Maggie act more ruthless than Carol. Mama bear instincts kicking in? (shrug)

she was a raging hormone killing machine...no match for Carol though. I'm afraid Dwight kills Abe next week and Eugene is kidnapped and maybe Negan bashes his skull in. I could live with that outcome.

No way. You don't go to All Out War because someone kills Eugene.

    ^^

    Haha, right!

I think Morgan, Abe and Maggie are all walking on borrowed time.

My mind blowing wildcard pick is...Daryl is next!

  4. All this focus on Abe right now can only mean one thing....he's gonna die soon

I'm afraid so, although it would be neat to see him stick around a little longer...similar to what they did with Shane.

Abraham might be the one to go, but I'm still leaning toward Glenn. They focused a lot on Maggie's pregnancy, which goes along with the comics. Also, unless it was a purposeful misdirection, Maggie is the one who says, "It's gonna cost us something," when they were discussing a deal with Hilltop. I think that was some MAJOR foreshadowing there.

Oh noes, not Glenn! That dude helps tie the group/show together for me. I can live without Maggie but Glenn is another story. Oh well, no one is safe right?

    I'm thinking Morgan, Abraham,....and Glenn.

  5. Randomly, I had heard Suicide Squad 7 was a hot book, but I don't collect DC - so I didn't know much about it, but when I saw it in the back issue rack of my LCS, I snapped it up thinking I got something special. I get home, pull it up on Ebay, and find dozens selling for 99¢. Guess that's what I get for speculatin'

    doh!

suicide sqaud #6 is actually the hot book in the series (my LCS had 12....i bought and sold every single one over a 8 days period.), tho i did have a few people looking for #7 too

this is why you gotta have a phone with internet. if i see books that i THINK might be worth something, i check online first.

I've got an iPhone, which I normally check when I'm cruising the back issues at the LCS - but in this case, I was positive it was a popular book.

    Store — Hotsy-Totsy, Home— Hotsy-Notsy.

    Ditto,

I always break out the IPhone before I buy a speculation book.

  6. What I don't understand about the Thief of Theives fanatics is that they don't spend close to proportionally the amount of money that they should on the Comicspro and ICE variants when those books are much more rare and in my mind much more desirable than the regular cover. The Comicspro and ICE variants weren't regional variants or comic shop variants and they are in the case of the ICE variant 17 times more rare than the regular cover and in the case of the Comicspro variant 68 times more rare than the regular cover. Plus a lot of the ICE variants were signed which makes them done as far as CGC goes because they weren't slabbed as SS books at the time of the signing and will forever be relegated to green slabs which people generally refrain from paying big money for. The way I see it - the ICE and Comicspro variants are the way to go if you are investing in these books to cash in when/if the AMC pilot turns into a blockbuster TV series. That's just my opinion, but I've not heard a satisfactory explanation for the disparity in price. About the best explanation I've heard is that people don't like the Comicspro sketch cover's look and that people don't understand what the ICE ("Image Comics Expo) variant is so they buy the regular cover. If the Comicspro variant goes down any lower, I'm going to be picking up a half a dozen copies of it for myself. lol

A month ago could get comics pro cheap. Now its still somewhat high not as low as it was before. So i think people rather spend $30 to $50 for a raw ToT #1 then pay $100+ for the comics pro. Yes covers look better then the other.

You can still find ToT #1 regular issues for cover price in some areas. So you can buy 33 regular covers for the cost of one $100 Ice or Comics Pro cover. Let's say that Comics Pro goes for $1,000 next month and a regular issue for $100.00. That stack of 33 regular issues will be worth $3,300 vs the Comics Pro for $1,000...not to mention selling $100 book will be easier than unloading a $1,000 book. This is just an example but I believe one can make more volume wise selling regular issues vs limited Comics Pro and Ice variants. I've owned all three variants and the most I paid was $9.99 for the Comic Pro and an average of 5.00 for my regular issues. I sold the Comics Pro and Ice variants during the first run up months ago and used th money to fund some OA. I was going to buy some more variants once prices dropped but forgot about it. But I'm still sitting good on regular issues.

  7. If anyone is has a Saga #1 CGC that they wanna sell, im so down. The comics are just going so high on ebay because there's 2-3 people having bid wars 4 days before the end of the sale. I can't deal with that kinda nonsense. I am new on this forum and definitely have no clue what I'm doing, other than lookin' for some dank books.

    Welcome aboard.

Anyhow, check out the Sage thread and he For sale sub-forum. If all else fails, there is a "want to buy" sub forum.

    Best of luck!

  8. So I will be buying my first piece of Walking Dead OA on Tuesday or Wednesday. I have to wait until a payment clears the Paypal hold. I have my eye on a page on Splashpageart. Does anyone know why they only accept money orders, cashier's checks or personal checks?

It says they take Paypal if necessary. That is the way I would like to pay, but I don't want to cause a headache.

Mark is great guy to deal with an talk to. Anyhow, I have bought a half dozen pieces from Mark using Paypal with zero issues. You just have to add %3 for PayPal fees.

  9. Are there 2 different versions of the signed edition? I see one on Ebay now that shows an open copy that is signed and numbered /500.

I would say that the non key issues are starting to see a cool down. Still selling a couple a day of random issues, but it's slowed from the 10-20 random issues a day that were selling for a while. One book to look out for is the "Rise of the Governor" Slipcase signed edition. Only 200 of these made. They had a retail at $125. I've sold one at show for $200 and one out of the ebay store for the same. I don't think a lot of stores carried these and this might be in heavy demand once "Governormania" sweeps the universe. I've still got one in the ebay store at 2 franklins, but the other few guys have theirs closer to $300. If you have a shop near you that you can get this at cover for, i suggest doing it.

    Did TWD finally cool down?

Is that the Omnibus? Just curious....

Rise of the Governor limited signed edition

  10. Thanks guys... Just curious. Cause these image books are just going crazy.. Thieves is getting more prints, danger girl , secret .. Pretty insane.

Follow and read the ones you like. Drop the rest.

    Support the projects you like.

In the long run, that'll bring the good books to the forefront.

  11. Read YTLM, enjoyed it...but can't for the life of me remember how it ended.

YTLM ended in the future and Yorick had been cloned a few dozen times or more. It had some lady ( I believe it's th original Yoricks Daughter) who seemed to be hiring/interviewing a clone Yorick. She takes him to meet the original Yorick who at this time is old in age. The original Yorick is tied up in a stray jacket surrounded by clone Amsterdans. He tried recreating Amsterdand but couldn't find one with the right personality. Then it shows a flash back of Amsterdan dying. The next thing we know the original Yorick vanishes...some how escapes j stray jacket which true to Yorick fashion but it appeared as though he made his exit out j window of a 2-3 story building.

    That's basically it.

Amsterdan in a stray jacket! lol

Seriously though, that sounds kind of weak in summary, but the book is one of the best single issues I've ever read. Perfectly executed and very emotional.

Machina's ending on the other hand is just brutally dark and makes you reassess the entire series. It's also a great ending, but for other reasons entirely.

I never said Amsterdan was in a Straitjacket? My auto correcting butchering device may have changed up the words but can't recall mentioning Amsterdan wearing one.

  13. from my slickdeals days...the rule is never call ahead..it just alerts them that something is potentially hot.

Maybe. But if I just showed up, I wouldn't have gotten the $15 deal. Plus, wasting gas money is worse. If ur gonna flip books, u can't waste money driving to shops that don't have books u can flip.

I don't even want my shop owners knowing what I am buying out of the dollar box, I have an employee ring me up whenever possible and try to disguise purchases of multiples out of there if they are something I hope to flip. I don't want the owner seeing what I am buying and deciding maybe he can squeeze more out.

I was in a guys shop last week going through his .50 blowout boxes...the owner wasn't there...I picked up 3 same copies of one book..and 2 same copies of another book...and the guy says "I can only sell you 1 of each of these." Out of a .50 blowout box!! I can understand the new comics, but damn...you're discounting these to try and get rid of them.

    :o

  14. maybe all these buyers were left ouf of the TWD gold rush and want a shot at something that might end up being big.

I've had several people ask about ToT and whether it was going to explode similar to TWD. So yes, I believe there is a far amount of people rushing to buy this book in hopes it will soon skyrocket like TWD.
