I'm not one to fight over a first appearance. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. My understanding from what I've read in the comics was that Sabine had her cameo in issue #1. So now I'm confused, as usual, as to what constitutes a cameo vs. a first appearance. But I also don't remember seeing her in issue #5.

Thanks for that. I also agree with you that the Star Wars comics don't get nearly enough love from the graders.

There is no dedicated forum for this. It is completely up to the Graders. I've had no luck with the "put a note on the book" option. Best thing to do is check the census, and bring it up in the forums. Then wait until you see the census change to the keynote and show the 1st appearance. Then send in your comic for grading.

They would be flooded with requests if it were left open to a forum. But I agree there needs to be a better way for us to get some of the newer modern books to show the keynotes and first appearances that they deserve. 

I just got a Kanan: The Last Padawan #6 and TMNT #101 graded. Both had a note for the first appearances, both got no keynote. 

Hot comic right now. I've seen the comic shops selling out of this and their graded versions. Ebay is also getting pricey. Where did you find yours?

For instance, CGC has still not put Naomi's first appearance on Naomi #1. A book that came out 6 months ago. Just one simple instance of many.

Agreed, they are not standing authority. But I do like seeing the 1st appearance keynotes.

They used to be a little more receiving on the customer service side. They would respond to emails about 1st appearance requests. I assume they are over loaded with emails.

So I shouldn't care what the keynote says? Even if I like seeing it there? I know the market determines the price. I'm simply asking about the keynotes and what everyone in the community thinks his first appearance is. I've already been shot down twice by CGC customer service and Ask CGC forums.

Which comic issue is considered the 1st appearance of Old Man Phoenix. Wolverine as an Old Man with the Phoenix force. Not to be confused with the Old Man Logan character. He appeared in Thor vol 5 #1 when he had a cameo on the last page and again in the story in issue #5. Story line wise he is actually the Wolverine version that goes back in time to get one of the Infinity Stones in Marvel Legacy #1. CGC notes this particular appearance as Wolverine returns and not as the Old Man Phoenix character.

I may be splitting straws at this point. But I'm huge on keynotes being accurate on graded comics. I love having that keynote to refer to when bidding on a comic's worth or when a 1st appearance discussion arises.

TMNT fans definitely know about this. These past few issues of the her appearances have been selling out at comic shops in my area. I'm just waiting to finally see her in action. And I am curious as to which comic will get keynotes. 1st appearance, 1st full appearance, 1st time in costume. You're right, a lot going on there.

LOL, right!? They need to stop being sooooo technical with the notation and just put in "first appearance". They are characters, this is their first appearance in a comic!

There is never a mention of his "first appearance". I got CGC to change the notation for Venom vs Carnage from "nothing" to "Patrick Mulligan becomes Toxin". Their reasoning for not putting "first appearance" in a response to my inquires, was that Toxin is a symbiote and a spawn from Carnage, meaning that his first true appearance would be considered in the first appearance of Carnage. 

Which to me doesn't make sense, that would mean every symbiote on Earth couldn't hold a first appearance title since they all came from Venom.

So, I fought for about a month with CGC about this before finally just excepting the notation.

Anyone know what happened to Daken after he lost his eye and his arm in the Wolverines event after the death of Wolverine. I have heard nothing about where he is or what future plans there are, if any, for his next story line.

And it has always been my impression that Cockrum's Wolverine was influenced by the way Timber Wolf was portrayed in the early 70's. Adventure 327 is the first Timber Wolf, if that interests you.

I'm looking for help in finding out which comic has the first appearance of the Fang character. I've found a few sources that say it's X-Men 107 1977, but nothing graded that has that notation. I realize that Fang has several clones, all that spawn after the other one dies. But at some point this character has a first appearance. I have a great collection of 1st appearances of wolverine and wild child style characters, looking to add this one too. Any help is greatly appreciated.
