    Here's some real pre-code horror...

An Overstreet Advisor grading this as an 8.0

The book that never stops giving.

It's the 52nd appearance of Dylan. One day this book will be more recognizable than Hulk 181! This is awesome!

I would think it graded a .5 because the back cover is missing unless this is the wrong back cover scan

Bob. That's a very astute observation of you. Obviously SkyPinkBlu was trying trick everyone and hope the buyer did not notice and quietly hide CGC's mistake in a public forum because NOBODY would notice with only thousands of people watching even though she has done tons of transactions and been fine all of those other times,

oh wait, no it's just clearly human error. #Bobhatesmebecauseofthecharacterlabels

for the record CGC is usually correct a very high percentage of the time. we all make mistakes

Yea that's my point. I guess I just dont do words good. I've been picking up books faster than I ever have because I see prices rising quickly on everything across the board. Though some books have gone up enough that I don't feel comfortable paying their current market rates to try to obtain them because of my fear of a market correction

That's a full circle of events though: Prices go up, you buy BECAUSE prices are gonna go up. Why does this market keep going up? there's most of the the non-comic investment factors but these seem to accelerate faster

If we only had a crystal ball or a DeLorean...I look at collectibles like any non-essential expense...cup of cofee, pack of smokes, a daily donut or a vacation...you'll spend money on some consumable that gives you a moment of pleasure but what's left is gone but an instant form of gratification or a memory...you spend the money nonetheless, knowing that it's a "cost" that you can never recoup...I'll buy a comic book for the same type of gratification and regardless if it goes up or down, I still get the enjoyment of collecting/owning the books until the day comes that I sell/trade the book for some other form of enjoyment...spend within your means and you'll have more enjoyment in the hobby...

That's true. For the rich, there's only so many places to put money. But there's tons of new entrance in which is good. I wonder if some of the mega keys have multiplied because of oligopoly ownership which is not innately bad but it takes away power of the people. ECs arent those cheap within pre-code especially sci fi? Look at planets in high grade now and before I start riot, sci fi is not the same as horror but there is carry over

Is there anything more irritating than when someone asks a question but clearly already has an answer in mind and refuses to accept any other answer?

    Asking for a friend.

Yeah. Buying an almost pedigree level collection, then finding out everything has colored pencil on the spines but for NO reason books were 9.0-9.4, removing it, but clearly not enough, then getting blue labels by accident (should have been purple labels) and then thinking the resto wasnt additive, getting blue labels, meaning well, naively putting them up and then having an entire mongul of internet trolls who would never say stuff to your face talk smack and create conspiracy theories about how you tick. X-men 12 is 7.5 AFTER all ct removed.

I'd want Tec 27 in 9.4 all day

Every post you write motivates me to tell anyone I know with an interest in comics to NEVER spend a single cent in your store.

Wow. You're gonna spend more energy talking about ME? Gee Beige, you shouldn't have. I'm flattered lol thx. you guys are great :)

Yikes! I'm rather uneasy trying to grade anything over an 8.0 as I look to buy in the mid-to-lower grades, and even I can see this isn't anywhere near an 8.0. Actually looks like something I might buy... nah, that mold/foxing/whatever on the spine is too much for me.

Also, sorry about contributing to the side bar on this thread, but I ran out of popcorn.

I love it when people talk about my Giggle 3. We should start a thread about it-that book was nothing until I came around. Maybe one day more people will have heard about it then Hulk 181 and it will be a KEY issue! This is great thx guys! :)

Bro, you're a clown...and to bring this petty BS here is a complete joke and a waste of everyone's time and energy.

I apologize in advance if this post is not 100% factual as I am just learning about this incident now

I have sold multiple CGC graded comics to Adrian, and in MY experience Adrian was very nice, professional, and ethical (Top City Comics)

I have also had many conversations with Lee (Polonsky) and found him to be very nice, professional and ethical. Both prior to this incident-not taking sides, purely stating my opinion

Adrian: It is wrong to not take care of a customer quickly. I think this scrutiny on these boards comes from that. Had you shipped them out quickly and honored the transaction even a week late, nobody would be saying anything. I really say this from the warmest of regards. I get what you are saying about Polonsky asking for a lot of prices and being picky. He is picky. It's your right to deal with who you want. But at the same time it's not fair to justify a delay because a customer is more difficult or pickier than average whether it's legitimate no marvel chipping guys or non legitimate partial refund extortionists. You can't hold someone else's money with no intent to fill the transaction. That's stealing-literally borrowing without asking. To recap, give faster service and if a deal is not happening give them back their money IMMEDIATELY. The customer doesn't have to be right it's the user experience. Take it from me. I changed my user experience on DylanAuctions BIG TIME. I used to have 1 or 2% complain about grading when I used CGC standards and yes to the haters occasionally stuff got missed Giggle 3 etc. I grade so tight now, that basically nobody complains. Had 4 returns in the last 6 months which is nothing-considering my volume. 3 guys changed their mind, and 1 the guy didnt think it could be a poor or fair, but I said ok no problem and he got his money back very quickly AND shipping.

Polonsky: work on making your handwriting more neat. I know had to lol-if he's right, that only made things more complicated and I know you HATE complications so it's YOUR prerogative to make it as easy as possible on your end. Maybe-he's totally wrong about it-I'd love to see a picture of this check .

  9. I find people who sell these morally reprehensible but if they want to buy with me I have no problem. If you think this is bad see the Michael Jordan Rookies being made in Mexico and China by the tens of thousands and being sold on ebay as "reprints" oh I found it at a garage sale bla bla bla, yeah right. Just bad for the hobby all around
