  1. Not a lot of "packages" this year. The Jim Lee one, that sketch opp I mentioned before, and that person may be joined by one other sketch opp.

I think people are going to insane over who we announce on Friday, and that's just another dozen or so creators of the four dozen plus coming this year. There's one person on the Friday list I've never had at one of our shows and I'm super stoked to meet.

    which sketch op was announced?

    none yet

  2. Way I see it, Every appearance is a bonus to the fans that haven't met him, or just want to see him again or get a picture --- the guy really does live for this, it keeps him active.

This. It might not be the most exciting announcement to a lot of us, but I love that he's still out there doing this and enjoying it. And he definitely puts on a great panel presentation.

  3. Any prices or info on Hughes sketches yet?

This was on Facebook today: DALLAS COMIC SHOW UPDATE

Hi all; we're about one month out from the Dallas Comic Show on February 11th & 12th, Adam's first comic con appearance of 2017. I've been getting quite a few messages asking about Adam's plan for commissions during this show. I'll be posting about 2 weeks out from the event IF Adam will be able to take commission requests, and if he can, when we will be taking the list. If he does take requests, we'll be doing it here, through Facebook, just like we have for past shows. So mark your calendars, I'll have more new for you on January 29th!

    See you all in Dallas!

  4. from a non-vendor perspective, I'm really looking forward to the guest list and the show. It's a busy first half of the year in Dallas for shows, but I know this one will be big and have some good names. I've had my problems with guest lists in the past, but I've also traded some messages with Kevin and believe he really cares about giving everyone the best list of guests possible. I also think that by cutting out the extra show in Dallas and hopefully rolling that budget money into this one, it'll be a better experience all around.

I'm as anxious as anyone else to see some names and get to planning, so I will ask Kevin this question, without naming names of course, is there the potential for any of the comic guests to have a package like Miller had last year that I might need to set aside extra money for?

  5. I agree that they seem to drop the comic guests all at once. So, I am not too worried about that. I am curious as to the media guests. Im surprised we haven't seen more yet. Next month will be key. Sounds like thats when we will get announcements.

Its important to know asap since many of us prepare for cons months in advance and make plans on purchases, who to send books to for which cons and so on. I am already making plans for spring/summer.

If I know a creator or media guest is going to be in town, I won't send out the books I want signed to a facilitator.

It will also be nice to ASAP since there is a show per month in Dallas starting next week and going through April. Gotta figure out the budget.

  6. Wondercon in Anaheim is the same weekend, so much for getting a date that didn't conflict with another big show...

Are there dates that don't conflict anymore? seems like there's a big show somewhere every weekend.

Wondercon is already announcing guests though, and they have some pretty good ones.
