After a couple of weeks doing research I decided to BIN on a refurbished HP 8300 for $117 shipped.

 

The seller has 20 more available in case anyone else is looking!

When I receive it I'll install HPs Windows 7 Drivers and/or VueScan and give it a go! I'm also going to try and use that "Extreme Mode" I read about here.

 

Any tips are appreciated in regards to software!

I just wanted to thank you for this suggestion. I bought an 8300 from the seller in the link you provided and within a couple of days it was at my door.

I scanned my Mile High II copy of Tales of Suspense #89, it was very fast and it made a beautiful scan of the slab. Thanks again.

I just wanted to say thanks to Greggy for picking up the SDCC exclusive Rodimus Prime Alternator for me and Deathlok for shipping it out to me and packing it so damn well. You guys rock!

SDCC Rodimus is already commanding upwards of $100 on Evilbay, so these guys saved me a lot of cash and headaches getting this guy to me.

Although I have most of the big pieces of the Atlas Super-Hero run, I still need a lot of the little pieces. I'm getting there though little by little, in fact it's a safe bet that I'll have more after I visit Harley Yee's booth this Saturday at the con.

That Human Torch #37 I posted earlier is at CGC right now too.

Pete, I have a few, believe me I wish I had more(who doesn't? ). I have a Timely at CGC right now as a matter of fact. I'll post it when it comes back from CGC.
