I ordered a box of 100 Gemini mailers after cutting cardboard all weekend in the Florida sun.
I don't want to go though that on a regular basis.
I know right! I'm on the oregon coast so for me outside activities involve the pouring rain most of the time
. Today i can hardly see more than a block because of how thick the fog is. -
it's Mostly because of the cost. unless you buy in bulk from the right source they can cost an arm and a leg, unless you up your shipping charges ad no one wants that.

Myself and my ebay counterpart Ship comics almost every day because we sell a lot of them on ebay. I basicly follow the idea that i want my package to be able to get hit by a truck or stabbed by a forklift (which i've dealt with WAY too many times) and still get to my customers in the condition they expect.
We use Gemini custom shipping boxes and i cant recommend them enough! What i do when shipping is:
1. place a second board covering the top of the bag and boarded comic, which is something often overlooked. if a piece of debris gets into your packaging and gets pressed against the cover of the comic it can damage the comic in shipping.
2. wrap the comic and board in a foam sheet. For a little cushion
3. place the wrapped comic into the gemini box, and tape the hell out of it
.4. for higher value comics ($50+) i will place the gemini box into an airjacket envelope.
and because we buy our shipping supplies wholesale we charge 3.99 shipping so that we just break even. and then we charge $1.00 per additional item to account for extra shipping charges.

Hey Guys! I'm new to the site, but i wanted to let you guys know that I manage a store that deals in collectables. Our largest section is devoted to comics, and we sell a lot of cool silver age stuff on ebay for really fair prices (we like people to get a deal)!
Right now i have Silver Surfer #'s 2-7, #16, and tales to astonish #93 (first crossover of the Silver Surfer). I also have a lot of rare and signed books.

there are a few reasons Comics shouldn't be shipped Media mail. The biggest is that they don't qualify for media mail because they contain ads. the only advertisements media allows is for promotional items concerning the item in question. Media mail is also subject to searches. if they open up the package and see something that is not allowed (such as a comic) you will be facing a hefty fine. and the searching process could potentially damage the comic. and lastly media mail is Extremely slow despite the face it says 2 to 8 days for most items. i've had cases where media has taken almost 3 weeks to get to a customer.
if you are shipping anything over 16oz. (including packaging materials) Flat rate is the way to go.
Anything under 16oz. and first class is your best bet.
