  1. I bought a copy of Ken Shannon #10 on eBay. Received today, and at first glance I was only disappointed in the fact that it has almost certainly been pressed without that being disclosed. But, looking closer, I think it's been trimmed. I admit, however, that I am NOT an expert here. So, any help would be appreciated. comics.org says this should be "standard Silver Age size". So, I am comparing to other SA books I have handy (Flash 129 and X-Men 21...Flash is wider than X-Men by like 1/8", but they are identical lengths). The first thing that bothered me was the straight edge on the right side. The middle wrap doesn't extend further than the rest (no "V" shape to the wraps). But, the overall width seems consistent with my other books I am comparing with. It's the same as Flash 129, and a bit wider than X-Men 21. The biggest thing that bothers me is the overall length. I am measuring it spot on 10", and it is clearly shorter than both books. Thoughts? Other pics that I can take that would help? Thanks in advance.
  2. OSPG backs up my understanding of this, but it's complicated enough, there could be holes in my analysis.
  3. I *think* there are a couple different ways this varies, but all versions have the same beautiful Cole cover. First, the indicia. The publishers are different, but the cover and contents (Defenders story among others) are the same. I believe the Defenders story contents are the most coveted. I do not know which of the four indicia is best to have. Then there is another version with the same cover, and different contents (Boogey man story, etc.) Finally, there is a third version with a different set of contents (humor oriented, and least desirable, I believe), but (again, I *think*) the same cover. I am sure that clears nothing up, but that's how I've understood it.
  4. My first golden age book . Bought a real high grade copy at an antique store near where I went to college. Paid a buck, and got $75 for it at the next con I went to. Always will love that cover. GLWTS

  6. Well, comics.org resolved that time. Not sure why I couldn’t get it earlier. It says the dimensions are standard golden age. This one is smaller. Anyone have one from this series that can confirm or refute the dimension info?
  7. Picked this one up at and antique shop today. I wish it was the OTHER Science Comics, but I thought this one was pretty cool. It’s the 1946 series, and only a lonely 3.5 on the census. So, this would be top of census if I submit. My issue is the right edge. Miscut or trimmed? The pages look right, but the dimensions seem small on this one. Comics.org seems to be down so not sure.
  8. Seems like the double cover is normal for that variant...at least there are several sold listings on eBay with that setup.
  9. Seven books left...make me an offer if you don't like my pricing.
  10. Loved the first couple issues, btw.
  11. FINALLY getting around to reading this series. The copy of #1 that I got was the Ashley Witter variant. I opened it last night to read and realized the Alex Ross “regular” cover is inside. Is this supposed to be a double cover? I am assuming so, but want to be sure I don’t have some one-in-a-million error.
  12. Take the remaining 13 books for $245 shipped in the US. Take the remaining 8 books for $175 shipped in the US. Take the remaining 7 books for $115 shipped in the US.
