  1. Sure, but it’s what my 11-year-old brain saw in the moment, and that was it!
  2. I think George Lucas loved FF because the first time I saw Darth Vader (opening scene, 1st movie, in the theater) my immediate reaction was, “That’s a Dr Doom rip-off!” And that’s how I never became a Star Wars junkie. True story.
  3. True. But talking comics, I like a lotta Doom stories. Kang, I can’t think of one. And I’ve got a full run of Avengers.
  4. Correct, not him. Sorry for any confusion. GoCollect called out the 1st appearance of He Who Remains, creator of the Time Keepers.
  5. Some TVA 1st app that GoCollect hyped in connection with the Loki show. Putting that aside, I do remember buying it off the rack and reading it and thinking the Servitor (giant red dude in golden armor) was bad@ss. I think he is the Servitor of Zarko, the Tomorrow Man, IIRC. Thors of that era are fun. My fave is #272, a tale of Thor and Loki’s childhood.
  6. Doom. I can’t think of one Kang story that was worth reading. He’s like a compiler in pro sports that eventually gets in the hall of fame. He just keeps consistently showing up, but he does not really belong in a discussion of Dr Doom, Magneto, Loki, Thanos etc. Not the same weight class.
  7. I blame @jimjum12and @gunsmokin for the Challengers #3; I had forgotten about that classic (hmm…Kirby quartet of adventurers gains superpowers, including flames, in 1958) until Jimbo sold one and Guns jumped on it. I think I grabbed the only one on eBay. It doesn’t come up for sale much. The b&w OA is from Kull #1 (1983) by John Buscema and Dan Green. The watercolors are OA pages (4&5 and double splash 24&25) from the 1986 graphic novel Dr Strange Into Shamballa; art by Dan Green.
  8. Close; the Starjammers are a Legion of Superheroes riff/tribute/knockoff, and Fang was the Timber Wolf doppelganger.
  9. Reminder of the above, plus I have just made an additional round of price cuts on other remaining books! It will all make sense when I make my “This Week in Your Colection” thread post later! I couldn’t help myself! Will closer later today and hope to do PM’s to takers tonight or with Sunday morning coffee, if tonight morphs imto a family movie. PS - Will consider PM’s too!
  10. On the stands approx. same time as ASM #3, so yeah 4th or 5th thereabouts. Early and underrated.
  11. Captain America #180 VG looks better at first glance but small tape pull on A in logo and white Schmutz on lower back cover (2 spots). 1st Nomad. $20
