    I think George Lucas loved FF because the first time I saw Darth Vader (opening scene, 1st movie, in the theater) my immediate reaction was, “That’s a Dr Doom rip-off!” And that’s how I never became a Star Wars junkie. True story.

    Some TVA 1st app that GoCollect hyped in connection with the Loki show. Putting that aside, I do remember buying it off the rack and reading it and thinking the Servitor (giant red dude in golden armor) was bad@ss. I think he is the Servitor of Zarko, the Tomorrow Man, IIRC. Thors of that era are fun. My fave is #272, a tale of Thor and Loki’s childhood.

    Doom. I can’t think of one Kang story that was worth reading. He’s like a compiler in pro sports that eventually gets in the hall of fame. He just keeps consistently showing up, but he does not really belong in a discussion of Dr Doom, Magneto, Loki, Thanos etc. Not the same weight class.

    I blame @jimjum12and @gunsmokin for the Challengers #3; I had forgotten about that classic (hmm…Kirby quartet of adventurers gains superpowers, including flames, in 1958) until Jimbo sold one and Guns jumped on it. I think I grabbed the only one on eBay. It doesn’t come up for sale much. The b&w OA is from Kull #1 (1983) by John Buscema and Dan Green. The watercolors are OA pages (4&5 and double splash 24&25) from the 1986 graphic novel Dr Strange Into Shamballa; art by Dan Green.
