  8. As promised in my recent "I Bought a Collection" thread, which recently closed, I am segregating out the Classics titles into a separate, smaller thread. This allows me to close the main thread, get books to those who are done, and offer these for those who might be interested. Anyone of course is welcome, whether you bought in the main thread or are just interested in these. I just didn't want to let a long thread get any longer as I figured at least some of the takers there would want to wrap up and be done. Payment is Check or Money Order; I do not have Paypal. First wins; tie/indeterminate goes to the thread. Shipping: U.S. Priority at $8 for up to 8-12 books (cardboard sangweech or flip n ship mailer in a Priority Legal Envelope) or $15 for a whole stack (Medium Flat Rate Box). Don't be listy including the little one in my head. Returns: Sure, just notify me within three days and get it back to me in the same shape on your dime.
  9. Bringing this thread back in a big way, thanks to a boardie with a big heart ... A very public thank you goes out to @miraclemet I selected his Funko Pop mystery box only to find out a couple days later (via PM) that MM planned to tailor it! He asked me several thoughtful questions about my interests and came back with a generous box that reflected them! In answer to him, I explained that I was new to Funkos and that the Defenders series was a childhood favorite -- lo and behold, the big 3 original Defenders are the centerpiece of a cool assortment, and Nighthawk joins the team via a surprise Marvel Legends piece! Too cool; thank you SO much, Charlie!
  10. I think that drawing was Russ Heath, right?
  11. Enjoy! It's lots of pictures and blurbs, not text-heavy, but it's an excellent walk down memory lane, with a tour guide giving the backstory the whole way.
  12. Guys, there's a great book about these ads, and there is a thread about it. The author is a childhood friend of @kav. He can explain it better than I can, but I did buy the book and its a lot of fun. I can shoot a pic and post it later if you like, but I don't want to derail the thread too much either. The desk, however, was not in there.
  13. OK gang, PM's have started going out. Need to break for errands; if you haven't gotten yours it is coming later. I won't close 'til they are all sent. If this closes and you haven't gotten one, only then have I missed you. But I'm largely confident my list and piles are accurate. I'm sorry but I'm not getting to a recap; I want to move this along as many great takers have been patient through this long thread. I can tell you that the remaining Finale books (pg 35 onward) are Batman #94, Showcase #10, Tec #222, and Tomb of Terror #14. There's still lots of cheap readers sprinkled throughout, and a couple Bat keys (Tec 387 & 395) still out there.
  14. Love, love, love hearing this! Please keep us posted! I agree with you -- love to get a collection that I can parse into a few "always-wanted" keepers, a bunch to share with the boards off the bat, and a bunch to read and share later... or not.
  15. Again, that's it for the thread...last round began last night on page 35...I'll close tomorrow sometime after getting invoice PM's to takers. I will then do a thread addendum (as a new thread) of just under 40 Classics Illustrated and related (C.I., Classic Comics, Marvel Classics, C.I. Special Editions, C.I. Junior). Those who want to hang out for it can wait on it to combine shipping, but this way those who are not interested can just send payment and get their books already; this thread has run awhile. I appreciate everyone's patience; thanks to all the takers and to everyone who brought the thread to life and made it a playground for people who love comics!
