  1. SOLD! Classics Illustrated #50 Tom Sawyer, original edition 1A (HRN 51 date 8/48). I hate to call this a VG+ but that streak (dirt? Stain?) on the right edge of the back cover is marring an otherwise solid FN. Used in SOTI, pg 37. Take it for $30
  2. Classics Illustrated #44 original edition (HRN 44) Mysteries of Paris. Used in SOTI pg. 323. This one is in Good, with a piece off the back cover and front cover barely ha going on at the bottom staple. So..... $15
  3. Would an HRN 28 (4th edition) do? That's the only original cover #13 that came in this collection. My personal copy you're thinking of is HRN 20 (3rd edition). If so, I'll pm a pic tomorrow, because....
  4. Just do it! The $20-$40 isn't worth the brain space it's taking. If you're wrong, console yourself with every other way you've ever blown a couple twenties in your life. Its a sure-fire mental health investment when a book gets in your head this way and it's a relatively low price point.
  5. Thank you, Jimmers! Yes it is a SOTI and, thank you for reminding me, so are several issues of Classics -- 10,13,15,43,44,50,55,68. Also, CI #'s 89,99, and 128 are POP books. I have editions of all to share here, including originals on some (50 and 68 for certain) so I will group them and make them the next few books offered in this thread! Thank you! Maybe even tonight if I can stay awake. About 43 -- there were only two editions, and it's relatively sought-after as the Classics run goes, it seems. I have one of each in this collection, but both are under separate discussions to help boardies finish runs. If they are passed on, they will be added at some point, but I am not rushing anyone so it may be a while if at all. With such a big collection, the vast majority of what I will not keep still won't make it to the boards, but I have been taking Pm's and trying to help people fill holes. 43 must be tough; asked for by several.
  6. Plenty more to come, though I will slow down for two weeks due to work schedule after this coming weekend. But more to come! Thanks!
  7. Classic Comics #5 Moby in Good; cover splitting to lower staple, staples pulled in front but attached at back cover. Well under guide and under the few asks available in the marketplace at $60.
  8. Classic Comics #9 Les Miserables original edition. Calling this one Fair/Good, as its all here and presents VG- but it has no staples and holes for a total of three (on a single staple book). It's still a complete copy of a very low number original from this run. $40
  9. SOLD! Classic Comics #30 The Moonstone original edition Sept 1946 Don Rico cover/art. VG+ held back by small piece missing upper left of cover, 1/4" horizontal, tear right cover edge, lower staple pulled (but still attached) at back cover. Flat, clean, presents well. $35
  10. Classic Comics #16 Gulliver's Travels original edition December 1943. Calling this one Fair with detached cover and splitting but it's all there. $20
  11. I like it but I think each seller should post their rules with their book; people shipping from all over, etc.
  12. Well, they say imitation is the sincerest of flattery, so I'll take a page from @Ricksneatstuff and post another book in place of the one that just sold. Here's CI #39 Jane Eyre HRN 71 in about FN- with a very cool cover. There's an original edition a few posts back in this thread, but if you just want the great cover on the cheap, take this HRN 71 Ed. for $5 (I'll say it again...they shoulda made that a red dress....) There's still more original editions to come, I just had this one shot and missed posting it the other day.
  13. That's all the first editions I have shot tonight; there will be more. Starting Monday, work gets very busy for the next three weeks, so the thread may lie fallow except for occasional updates for a bit. You can sit on your books 'til the end or PM me if you want to get things wrapped up. I'm good either way. Thanks all lookers and takers! Again, comps on these aren't the easiest. Feel free to PM offers.
  14. Forgot to mention....on the Michael Strogoff 1st edition - take a look at the coming next ad for The Prince and the Pauper and check out the child bondage cover that did NOT get used. The actual first edition to 29 is a great horror cover in its own right; imagine if they had rolled with the one in the ad???
  15. Classic Comics #27 The Adventures of Marco Polo HRN 27 (1st Ed.) A nice-presenting VG held back by piece out of spine near logo and back cover damage. Small piece of tape inside FC. VG/VG+ $40
  16. Classic Comics #28 Michael Strogoff HRN 28. Tiny tear above bottom staple, tiny chips out lower left corner and right edge, near eye of stabbed wolf. FN- $70
  17. Classic Comics #31 The Black Arrow HRN 30. Again, cover detached and rough at spine. Fair. Coolest thing about this is the inside back cover "coming next" ad for Lorna Doone. $5
