  15. Hi, all; I've consigned the following items to the July 9-12 Heritage Comics and Comic Art Signature Auction. There's some nice art by several fan-favorite artists as follows: Mark Bagley Invincible Iron Man #600p37 half splash with heroes featuring Ironheart, Miles Morales, Blade, Cable, Toni Ho, and Arno Stark descending on Hydra agents on this page from "The Search for Tony Stark: Finale". Here's the link to the page: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/mark-bagley-and-andrew-hennessy-invincible-iron-man-600-story-page-37-original-art-marvel-2018-/a/7231-95022.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Bill Sienkiewicz - Superman vs. Cyborg Superman Painting Original Art (c. 1994). A stunning image of the Man of Steel as only the masterful Bill Sienkiewicz could capture him. Sienkiewicz did produce several images for the 1994 extended-vertical-format Skybox Superman: Man of Steel trading cards; however this image was unused for the set. Two poses of one of the Hulk's longest standing rivals and enemies... The Abomination! Originally created for a new Marvel Style Guide (ala the DC Style Guide by José Luis García-López), the images did turn up in a few commercial products, such as for box art for the Abomination toy in the 2000s. A lovely face, creased by worry, dominates Williamson's character-study composition. A wordy ----script (Panel 2) might have crowded out a lesser artist -- but Williamson makes things work with a deep-perspective two-shot. Emotional intensity galore. Williamson defies and re-invents the narrowing space of the newspapers' comics pages by treating the horizontal space as a canvas, integrating the individual panels into a propulsive whole. Here's the link: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/al-williamson-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-3-27-70-king-features-syndicate-1970-/a/7231-95320.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Al Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-13-70 (King Features Syndicate, 1970). Williamson rebels against the narrowing daily-comics space by making a two-panel layout where three panels would have been the norm. All the better to depict Agent Corrigan's savage struggle against a burlier antagonist. The composition was designed to appear to spring from the newspaper page in 1970 -- it still springs, even without the published context of a page-full of comic strips. Williamson was so far ahead of his time that his stuff still looks progressive. The link: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/al-williamson-secret-agent-corrigan-daily-comic-strip-original-art-dated-10-13-70-king-features-syndicate-/a/7231-95321.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=5|0 Al Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-2-70 (King Features Syndicate, 1970). Is Agent Corrigan heading into a lost world of dinosaurs? Sure sounds like it, in this ominous prelude to an adventure involving recently fossilized prehistoric remains. As great as he was at depicting hard-charging action, Williamson also excelled at making quiet encounters play with a propulsive intensity -- arguably the best artist to handle Secret Agent Corrigan since the great Alex Raymond, back when the feature was known as Secret Agent X-9. Thanks for looking (and bidding, if you desire)

  20. Except for the fact that the image of a man (any man) singlehandedly lifting a car over his head would be far more interesting to me than whatever was on the cover of Ladies Home Journal. hows that for context?
