  1. I was in that shop 2 weeks ago. They have a cgc 8.0 or 8.5 hulk 181 and an ungraded x-men 1 for sale in the counter at register for 4K and 10k. There was also a Stan Lee signed FF 1. The guy working said that he thought they were consignment  items, but he was unsure. I can't imagine anyone leaving the caliber of books I saw with a stranger for any period time, let alone 6 months unattended, seems fishy.

I don't believe Ned was retconned until the Hobgoblin Lives! mini came out years later which supposedly "set it straight" as to who was originally intended to be Hobby, but it's still Ned for me. Also, the panel where Spider-Man pulps Wolvie's face over and over again till he pounds his head through a headstone was boss. One of the more memorable sequences I've encountered. Fun book, for sure.

Yeah, the tombstone getting wrecked was so bad . That book was such a win for me back then, my 2 favorites in just an all out brawl.

There are are a lot of people that don't know about the death of Ned Leeds in that issue and believe that it is ASM 289. I have seen dealers at shows and shops mark 289 as the "death" and 2 times now have seen the vs issue in stock at the same time with no markings as to the death of Ned.

  3. This is a repost on the forums, but here is the link to the article from a few weeks ago explaining the hype if you missed it.

Let's say that in June this guy shows up in a x-book. What will the prices do then? Will everyone double todays buying price of these books and try to dump them all on eBay or is everyone trying to hoard them all in hopes that in a couple of years the character has some important role in marvel universe and becomes a fan favorite, or is everyone picking up all the 3 dollar copies at their lcs and making their money now? Obviously, no one is buying the book now because of being a huge fan.

  4. I was in my lcs the other night and this guy pulled a Nexus 21 from First Comics out of the dollar bin, I swear he almost started crying. He was visibly shaking and told me that he'd been looking for that issue for 20 years to complete his run. This thread made me think of him and how that book is still probably propped up on a table somewhere in his house.
