I won the bidding for that at $250 and just realized I had not heard from the artist after the closing of the auction, I checked his page, it's now unavailable at $475.
Oh well, best of luck to the guy in the Spawn contest.
My high bid:
The auction results from Google Cache two days after the auction close:
Lol yeah I placed a bid on one of the pieces he had on auction and was cancelled 10 minutes before it was going to end. I was the high bidder at $50. I checked the next day and he relisted it for around $475. No communication aside from the bid cancellation email. Just like you I have no hard feelings. A word of advice to OP, if your site doesn't generate any traffic, don't host an auction on there.

Your artwork is amazing! Todd would be lucky to have you draw on Spawn someday. Your style is so aligned haha. I really hope someone picks you up for a book! I placed a bid too.

As far as I can tell, these seem to be pieces of art by Jack Kirby - maybe - but to anyone who saw these and hoped that the whole "artist unknown" thing might mean you get a bargain....I mean, again, maybe?
Check out what else he's sold, beginning with the splash to Amazing Fantasy 15: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134925086925?itmmeta=01HQ6D5G8Z55SQ93ZBY9TNNWH2&hash=item1f6a2970cd:g:M4UAAOSw-dRluc0x
Which he has sold twice so far.
Also he has two published feedbacks, one of which says the bidder never received the item.
But hey, it's entirely possible I'm just a simpering ninny and you will be massively rewarded.
GI have looked at these multiple times over the last couple days lol. The feedback rating alone is a no go for me but it is very enticing. The photos seem to look like real art, but most likely if you win, it would never be sent. I find it pretty hard to say you don't know who the artist is since a simple google search of "OMAC series artists" pulls up Kirby's name on the first result.

Remember, this art is going to outlive us.
Thank you for sharing Taylor, the comic art preservation thread is very interesting and I think I can develop an episode around it. I have a long list of videos to make so far so I need to make priorities on what content to come out sooner
For the conservation thread you linked, I was going to take a deeper dive from my video about how to store comic art to a video focused on "How to Show Off Your Original Comic Art" specifically:
1. Online database comic art site: ComicArtFans
2. Posting on social media - Instagram has huge comic book fanbase
3. Custom Frame and mat pieces with accompanied comic page (Show my Fathom example) - Make sure the art is safe/archival and adheres to museum standards, etc -

The next time you need examples for your videos, this is probably a good group to ask for samples from their collections.
And no, I don’t know who did that sketch you showed in the first video, but don’t forget to warn buyers about the damaging impact of sunlight on marker worker.
Oh yes I know I was forgetting a few things in that video haha. I'll add that to my description and I'll make a comment and pin it to the top. I'll reach out to the community in the future if anyone wants one of their pieces used as an example! Thank you Rick!

Many many thanks Nico!

Hello all, my name is Steve and I wanted to make a formal introduction on the Comic Art forums here. I have been lurking in the background a little, but wanted to be more verbal and share my passion for original comic art with like minded folks. I have wanted to make a youtube channel and recently pulled the trigger. It is a channel dedicated to collecting, buying, storing, taking care of... the whole shebang of comic art related content! I do have a passion for the books themselves, and own much nicer books than original comic art so I have some videos about comic collections as well.
I know that collecting comic art is very niche and there are only a few YouTube channels dedicated to comic art like Felix Comic Art and Comic Art Live, but a goal of mine is to help build awareness to original comic art because it is truly underappreciated.
The channel page for Cantu Comics is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMuo86-2WOhWIAw1u_c65AQ
I have linked the first episode below as well (I have about 10 videos now). I look forward to sharing stories with the community and I hope you find my content entertaining
Thanks,
Steve from Cantu Comics -

I have a nice copy of the 1st Kang the Conqueror, but am not sure if its worth submitting to get slabbed. My biggest concern is the small rip in the top center of the cover.- FoggyNelson and Galen130

Hello everyone! Long time listener, first time caller here.
So I've had this Wolverine pinup and wanted to add it to my comicartfan gallery, but I can't remember the name of the artist I bought it from. He was in Artist Alley at San Diego Comic Con around 10 years ago. His table was located next to other established artists so I remember him having some published art as well. Hopefully someone here recognizes his signature because I have had no luck reverse image searching it.

I have had good luck with Bags Unlimited for my comic art storing needs. They offer a wide variety of Mylar, backing boards and more.
