I won the bidding for that at $250 and just realized I had not heard from the artist after the closing of the auction, I checked his page, it's now unavailable at $475. lol

Oh well, best of luck to the guy in the Spawn contest. (shrug)

    My high bid:

The auction results from Google Cache two days after the auction close:

Lol yeah I placed a bid on one of the pieces he had on auction and was cancelled 10 minutes before it was going to end.  I was the high bidder at $50.  I checked the next day and he relisted it for around $475.  No communication aside from the bid cancellation email.  Just like you I have no hard feelings.  A word of advice to OP, if your site doesn't generate any traffic, don't host an auction on there.

As far as I can tell, these seem to be pieces of art by Jack Kirby - maybe - but to anyone who saw these and hoped that the whole "artist unknown" thing might mean you get a bargain....I mean, again, maybe?

Check out what else he's sold, beginning with the splash to Amazing Fantasy 15: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134925086925?itmmeta=01HQ6D5G8Z55SQ93ZBY9TNNWH2&hash=item1f6a2970cd:g:M4UAAOSw-dRluc0x

Which he has sold twice so far.

Also he has two published feedbacks, one of which says the bidder never received the item.

But hey, it's entirely possible I'm just a simpering ninny and you will be massively rewarded.

I have looked at these multiple times over the last couple days lol.  The feedback rating alone is a no go for me but it is very enticing.  The photos seem to look like real art, but most likely if you win, it would never be sent.  I find it pretty hard to say you don't know who the artist is since a simple google search of "OMAC series artists" pulls up Kirby's name on the first result.

Remember, this art is going to outlive us.

Thank you for sharing Taylor, the comic art preservation thread is very interesting and I think I can develop an episode around it.  I have a long list of videos to make so far so I need to make priorities on what content to come out sooner :)

For the conservation thread you linked, I was going to take a deeper dive from my video about how to store comic art to a video focused on "How to Show Off Your Original Comic Art" specifically:
    1.  Online database comic art site: ComicArtFans
    2.  Posting on social media - Instagram has huge comic book fanbase
    3.  Custom Frame and mat pieces with accompanied comic page (Show my Fathom example) - Make sure the art is safe/archival and adheres to museum standards, etc

The next time you need examples for your videos, this is probably a good group to ask for samples from their collections.

And no, I don’t know who did that sketch you showed in the first video, but don’t forget to warn buyers about the damaging impact of sunlight on marker worker.

Oh yes I know I was forgetting a few things in that video haha.  I'll add that to my description and I'll make a comment and pin it to the top.  I'll reach out to the community in the future if anyone wants one of their pieces used as an example!  Thank you Rick!

All comic art oriented content is welcome! I also subscribed to your channel and added a few links to your videos in ComicArtTracker's FAQ / Comic Art Collecting Guide! (more specifically in this entry about what comic art is and this one about storing comic art).

    Many many thanks Nico!

  5. Hello everyone!  Long time listener, first time caller here.

So I've had this Wolverine pinup and wanted to add it to my comicartfan gallery, but I can't remember the name of the artist I bought it from.  He was in Artist Alley at San Diego Comic Con around 10 years ago.  His table was located next to other established artists so I remember him having some published art as well.  Hopefully someone here recognizes his signature because I have had no luck reverse image searching it.
