    Thank you!

I did have Marvel Preview #4 and #7 on the list, which covers Star Lord and Rocket Raccoon.  I put Conan #23 on my list when it looks like I really meant #24.

Totally forgot about Deathlok, Man-Thing, and Shang-Chi (I have the first of those three, not the other two).  I hadn't considered Night Nurse, Dracula, and Blade but maybe I should.  Just when I thought I was done searching for Bronze Age issues!!

9.0...but maybe 9.2 if you press it. Significant spine curl.

There is a spine curl in this book , but not NEAR as bad as other spine curls, which have a direct impact on the "squareness" of the book, which also means the BACK of the book, as well.
No matter if by scans or photographs, NOTHING is going to look absolutely PERFECT, which is why I deal only locally, so the customer can come to MY place of business, and examine the book for HIM or HER self.
Ebay USED to be a good place to buy comics, but THAT was 20 years ago.

In the NOW, you have ALL sorts, just placing scans, and not knowing WTF they are talking about!

Case in point- there's a seller on ebay that knows NOTHING about "Grading" so, HE just posts scans of the books that he is selling, and then lets YOU decide on the grade, according to the scans.

Seriously! Would any of YOU buy a "Pig In A Poke"?

    I don't think so!!!!

  3. Life and Death and everything in between.

Introductions, Hook-ups, Break-Ups and eventually Marriage.

Comedy, Tragedy, Triumph and Incredible Comebacks.

What are the comics pages that provided YOU with the most memorable sequences in YOUR life?

This doesn't have to be on a sliding scale-eg, there is no ONE moment in comics that will vie for the "Number One Spot", rather just a poll on how different moments, mean different things to all of us.

If you can, please provide a scan of your favorite comics moment.

  4. Those dents against the rest of the book are nothing.

Everything else appears to be in ship-shape!

    A solid 8.5.

BTW, if you want to photograph your comics with more accuracy under ANY given light conditions, make use of the White Balance "Preset Manual" or whatever it's called on your camera. That means taking a white card and filling your viewfinder with it and then hitting the right button. Works like a charm!

Use of the flash on your camera just doesn't work, because of the glossy cover sending your flash right back to you, while creating a distracting "white spot."

And really-WHO sets the price on "slabs"?

    Is it CGC?

    Nope!

It's all of the greedy bums out there that think that ONE book is going to float them blissfully into retirement.

Call me old fashioned, but I have no use for slabs, especially since I read one time that the "specially filtrated paper" has to be changed out once every decade.

Of course though, it's probably the SAME people who said at one time that each of our books, stored in polypropylene bags, had to changed out in the same interval!

You know what?  I have books from 40+ YEARS ago that are still stored in manila file folders and they are as fresh and new as the day I picked them up!

And NOT stored in "acid free boxes" either! And certainly NOT stored vertically, as is the case with the acid free boxes because my young choices led me to store my comics HORIZONTALLY, a method that has only recently caught on, but for me, back in the 70's it was my ONLY CHOICE!

The BODY of a comic book is much more flexible than the SPINE, so therefore, by extension, it makes sense to store books with the spine on the horizon!

Avengers 93 is still super tough to find a high grade raw copy, and 9.4+ slabs are over $1K, but I agree that this isn't looked at as a bronze key in the general sense.  Among Adams collectors, this book is still highly coveted though.

    +1

Definitely an understatement when it came to his superb work on the Avengers.  :luhv:

I still remember when his Avengers 93 was one of the highest price BA books out there and one of the must have keys out there.  Unfortunately, not so much the case anymore as it has for some strange reason fallen way down on the valuation chart when it comes to BA books.  :frown:

It may have been a "superb start" on THE AVENGERS, but he didn't *finish* it...
