Final progress report for my single modern ME book:

Received + Scheduled For Grading: 12/15/22

    Grading/QC: 1/19/23

    Shipped: 1/25/23

Must be nice. Mine have been in a grading status since November. Still not convinced they didn’t lose my book. Been given 3 different answer to what happened to my book and yet no answer from submissions department. Ugh terrible!!!!!

I have been told that we are behind in entering ME's into the system.

Can I send you my order number or submission number? I’ve been waiting since 11/07 and was told 3 different times this will sent out this week as high priority but no movement since December - January conversations. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

They're behind on everything. I've had Walk Throughs, which used to be in and out in 2 days take up to a week just to get entered into the system and up to two weeks before they're shipped out.

My walkthrough was submitted back in September. Got it rather quickly but the label was wrong. Resubmitted for ME and now my so called walkthrough has been gone since October. They received on 11/07 and had been “Scheduled for grading” since. I was told to search for ME turnaround time and it has brought me to this forum. A walkthrough has been gone for more than a quarter of a year due to their quality control issues.

My recently submitted (and CLEARLY labeled) Mechanical Error took 11 business days to be marked as received after it was delivered.
It has been 'Scheduled for Grading' for 26 business days.
CGC has had the book to correct their error regarding a label for 37 business days and counting...

    Shipped                        11/1
Delivered                      11/2 (1 business day later / 1 day total)
Scheduled for Grading 11/17 (11 business days later / 12 days total)

Some claims were made by @CGC Mike that Mechanical Errors were expedited, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
(see below link to a post yesterday with slow track modern with 12 business day turnaround)

My New Year's resolution is to make this happen.

I’ve had a walkthrough resubmitted because of mechanical error back on 9/26. Cgc received book on 11/07. I was told I would have before end of December. Well it’s the first of the year and nothing. Sucks I paid for walkthrough for quick service to resubmit and take an additional 3 months and counting just to swap a label out. Poor service and quality control.

I don't know if this can be done in less than 3 weeks. Your only chance I think would be to use Express ($85) or Walk Thru ($150) to press your book and pray the 10 business days is accurate.

So I spoke to the customer service rep and specified that all press and cleanings will be held after signature. As long as the books are submitted before the end of month, they will crack and apply signatures, press and clean.  Thank you for advice!

  7. Good morning avid collectors,

I have a question in regards to resubmitting Signature series CGC books. I would like to submit some of my Stan Lee slabs to have Claremont sign as well. From my understanding, I would need to keep my books slabbed and CGC will charge a $5 cracking fee. However, when I am checking out, I do not see that fee included. Am I missing something?
Also, I have another slabbed CGC (universal blue label) book but do not want to crack and would rather have CGC crack, press and clean and Claremont signature on the book but there is no option for this. Again, in same boat with have CGC charge the $5 cracking fee. Please chime in and inform what would need to be done on my end.

    Thanks!

Isn't the answer to why this book spiked obvious?  (shrug)

When C-list Bronze Age characters like Swamp Thing, Moon Knight, Luke Cage and Ghost Rider started selling close to or in excess of Wolvie's first appearance, a massive increase in prices in Hulk 181 was not only foreseeable, it was inevitable.

agreed! this book is ridiculously hot right now.i guess the question now is how long will it last before this issue crashes.....if it does(shrug)
