Well I can help with the mystery a bit but not really. I just remembered buying a Captain Midnight book (the only one I ever purchased) years ago when that Crippen collection first hit Heritage.

I just checked my heritage account and sure enough . . .it was that book!  Anyhow, it did come with that certificate. I was just starting to collect a bit of golden age and it was affordable.

However, I sold the book a year or two later and of course the certificate went with it. I didn't keep records of who I sold things to so that is as far as the help goes with me.

Hard to remember things from 15 years ago or so. Wish I would have bought then what I ended up collecting now which is PCH. Hindsight is always 20/20 doh!

17051 Captain Midnight #27 Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) pedigree (Fawcett, 1945) CGC VF+ 8.5 Cream to off-white pages. Overstreet 2006...

Your Secret Maximum Bid was: $204 ($243.78 w/ BP )
    $204.00 $39.78 $243.78

That's great info small world!  I think that I got it when I bought some EC's maybe around 2008 or 2009 or ?? and it was accidentally included between some backer boards and I didn't notice it for some time and like you don't remember who I bought the EC's from.

  2. Got mine today, I love it! I only wish there was a hardcover version. Highly recommended (thumbs u

I got mine yesterday and I can't keep from going back to it. One of the more enjoyable collections in a long time. Can't wait to see what the Frankie looks like.

  3. Hi

As my 50th birthday gets closer I've settled on these wonderful Fox titles as my only comic collecting focus. Everything else has (almost) been sold, and I'm at peace with the world.

My collection so far isn't that great but I though that I'd start posting them here as time permits. I look forward to aquiring more issues and seeing everyone else's (thumbs u

    Sincerely, Jeff :)

    First up
