Signed by the girl of my dreams.

This just in:
Rarely seen book.
Does anyone know the page count for this comic? I'm worried it may be incomplete.
-
Nothing HG here but a monumental moment in my life:
First GA books First Schomburg covers and Timely's to-boot..
Great cover gloss on these babies.
Be careful Gone Phishin', or else you may become a hopeless Timely addict like me.

Thanks for all the nice complements. I spent about 6 months collecting these and was happy with the grades they got. As ciorac said "Mid grades rock " and are still in my price range.
The AW #1 is cool, but that Cap is probably my favorite Cap cover of all time.Unfortunately my scanner cuts off the bottom of the comic and you miss the full bondage scene. Anyone have suggestions on good large bed scanners?

This just in from the CGC.
A trio of sweet mid grades:
-
Nice Cap 7 and Human Torch 15 from MCMiles. Speedy delivery.

Stunning copy!
Thanks ciorac. I had the good fortune to buy this from the daughter of the original owner.

It seems comics focused on true stories remain in the Overstreet doldrums.

is that Stalin? at that point in the war, Russia was on our side against the Nazis.
maybe it's the leader of Hungary or Romania or one of the other Axis allies, but i doubt that it's Stalin, despite what the OPG says
The CGC seems to have taken the same view as Overstreet:
I dug up an old photo on the web of Stalin, Complete with the shock of white hair on the right temple.
(Photo from web page http://www.stel.ru/stalin/joseph_1935-1953.htm)
Even then the Russians were no great friends of the US. As General George Patton said:
"We promised the Europeans freedom. It would be worse than dishonorable not to see they have it. This might mean war with the Russians, but what of it? They have no Air Force anymore, their gasoline and ammunition supplies are low. I've seen their miserable supply trains; mostly wagons drawn by beaten up old horses or oxen. I'll say this; the Third Army alone with very little help and with damned few casualties, could lick what is left of the Russians in six weeks. You mark my words. Don't ever forget them. Someday we will have to fight them and it will take six years and cost us six million lives."
Golden Age politics, fascinating!

Here's another captain - This time Captain Terror !check out hitler in the Drill Mobile !
I apoligise for the rippling on the floor and walls of the tunnel. It's a scanner artifact. Interestingly, the effect gets worse if I up the scanner resolution.

This be my Timely pride and joy. I picked it up from the original owner. I've since had it graded by CGC at 6.5 - Blue label. You can see some of my other comics, including Timelys at

When I get some original art I like to also get a CGC SS of the comic it's published in. No particular reason, it's just what I like to do.
