  3. So this 9.8 Mark Jewellers Secret Wars 8 is at $3,349 and ends in less than two hours. I believe it was a member of the boards who posted this book, as was mentioned earlier in the thread. It looks like a legit 9.8, coming from a trustworthy source.

Meanwhile our friend Briva's book "sold" for over 21k a few weeks ago. I doubt this was an actual sale, as he ended it early and was obviously shill bidded to the moon... Yet still I feel real bad for the trustworthy seller who is going to take a massive hit because of scumbag Briva.

  4. You have to figure many books he's either buying raw or locally at conventions or dealers. I'm surprised he'd bother going to the effort of buying a 9.4 blue label when a high grade raw copy would be cheaper. However I guess in this case he wants to submit books that are within "range" of a 9.8, and can get past CGC quality control. However in many of these cases the books obviously never looked like a 9.8.

I guess he never had the balls to try the scam with a 9.9 or 10.0. Imagine if he had stooped to those levels of the market?

Looks like the 294 is also on MCS https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ivitems=13192861#59508275

Again the bottom left corner of the back cover looks rather suspect. None of the corners aren't "perfect" in my view.

    Here's the 303, which looks better https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=53904545

The 306 which went for big money earlier this year ($2034). https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=59508283 What's interesting here is another 9.8 sold for $2951 in November, I wonder if he has anything to do with that book?

    Finally the 308 sale: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=53904554

  6. Has anyone found out his identity yet? I'm shocked none of his buyers haven't made his name known. One of them must be paying attention to what's happening.

The unfortunate thing is since there was no word from CGC today, it's doubtful there will be any news next week over the holidays. Then we're already into New Year's. Will this story still have the same traction come January 1st? Maybe that's what CGC is waiting for... for this situation to lose all momentum.

  7. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Briva3 also has sold sports cards (and other cards) through PSA. If you look up his name, you'll see it's linked to many card sales as well.

Like this one for example. Assuming this is the same person(s), I wonder if this scam goes well beyond merely comics, and CGC.
