  2. One last "Big Boy" and I kinda hope I don't sell it, so here goes; SUPERMAN #1 CGC Grade: 2.0 GD Price: $175,000 SUM 1939; Off-White to White pages. Origin of Superman. Superman pin-up on back cover. Siegel and Shuster story and art. Tape on interior cover.

  4. HANGMAN COMICS #3 CGC Grade: 9.0 VF/NM Price: $25,000 SUM 1942; Off white pages. Pennsylvania Copy. One of the first Nazi war cover (by Harry Lucey). Bondage cover with a beheading splash page.
  5. DETECTIVE COMICS #35SOLD PER PM ! CGC Grade: 3.5 VG - Price: $35,000 JAN 1940; Off-white to white pages. The issue is one of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics, and any copy that's certified as unrestored is hard to come by. This issue's classic cover marked the beginning of Batman's run as the permanent cover star of the title, a streak that is still going! The book is also famous for its splash panel, which has Batman holding a smoking gun -- now that's a Dark Knight!
  6. DETECTIVE COMICS #35 CGC Grade: 0.5 PR Price: $11,500 JAN 1940; Cream to off-white pages. "Classic" hypodermic needle cover by Bob Kane. It's the main reason this issue is the fifth-most valuable in the storied run of DC's namesake title. Another reason is an almost equally classic splash page of Batman holding a smoking .45! Consecutive Batman covers begin with this issue. Back cover missing. Front cover detached. Incomplete. Small amount of dried glue on first wrap.
  7. DETECTIVE COMICS #31 SOLD PER PM CGC Grade: 0.5 PR Price: $26,000 SEP. 1939; Cream To Off-White Pages. Spine of cover completely split and cover detached. Classic Bob Kane cover and art. First appearance of the Batplane, the Monk and Julie Madison. Gardner Fox and Jerry Siegal stories. Fred Guardineer and Joe Shuster art.
  8. DETECTIVE COMICS #28 CGC Grade: 2.0 GD Price: $24,500 JUN 1939; Off-white to white pages. The second appearance of Batman is so tough to find in un-restored condition. Even though Batman didn't make the cover, except for a blurb, he was the lead feature in the book, indicating that DC knew they had a winner on their hands. Fred Guardineer is the cover artist.
  9. BATMAN #1 CGC Grade: 4.0 VG Price: $169,000 SPR 1940; Cream To Off-White Pages. Bill Finger story, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson cover and art. First appearance of the Joker and the Cat (Catwoman). Hugo Strange appearance. Three pieces of tape on interior cover

One thing that comes to my mind, about not posting much, is by the time I read through all the other smart boardies, input and comments, takes, etc, THE TOPIC HAS BEEN PRETTY MUCH COVERED, AND ANY THOUGHTS I HAD HAVE BEEN POSTED ALREADY, BY AT LEAST 10- DIFFERANT BOARDIES, as such, I have nothing new to add, at least that the way I feel, about 99% of the time,
