I will pay $1,000 cash to anyone who can provide me with a CGC 10.0 graded copy of:

Amphoman #1 (green cover) from 2/12

Must be listed in the CGC census as a registered copy.

$1000 is handed to you to invest long-term in CGC MODERN Age what do you do?

This is to supplement a bronze age thread I started 7 years ago.

    https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/194065-1000-is-handed-to-you-to-invest-long-term-in-cgc-bronze-age-what-do-you-do/

We  have gone back to that thread, and we have noticed a lot of bronze age key comic  books have more than doubled in profit, so now I am asking the same question here about moderns. I think it be fun to see what people pick now for investment/speculator purposes.

    SO

Scenario: You have $1000 of disposable income to invest long-term(5 years) in getting some Modern keys. What do you pick?

criteria these must be CGC`ed and dates are 1997 to 2017.

These will not be for a quick flip, you spend the $1000 now and hopefully in 5 years you will have a little profit. Since you guys are the experts I like to hear your pros and cons thoughts.

I will start it off with any mid-grade The Walking Dead CGC  #1 for under a grand.

Amphoman. Pick up copies for $4 and they’re selling for upwards of $30+ On Heritage, eBay and ComicLink. For some reason you have to search it as “ampho man” on some sites and as one word on others 😂

The standard response when compared to someone great is a humble "oh, no I'm no Stan Lee but I do my best!"
Not a "Yep I'm like Stan Lee all right".

    YMMV

You guys are hilarious. 😂 Thanks for the tough love and laughs.

I had the pleasure of spending a half hour with Stan Lee early ‘90 when he visited my local sports complex. There was a handwritten paper that said “meet Stan Lee” and lo and behold there he was in an empty room. He liked my work and encouraged me to continue. He also signed an original art page I had from ASM 238.

The biggest honor I received was to be compared to the man 20+ yrs later and it humbles me to think how everything has become so corporatized since then.

I’m just a guy in the world trying to make his way like the next person. I don’t have the right connections or know the right people so regardless of what I put together I’m at a disadvantage. The old - it’s not what u know but who.

At this time my comic is playing a bit of a distraction for me as I’m coping with the reality my family member survived a school shooting and now has PTSD and is in state custody.

BTW I’m not seeing the Mike Kaye fan club, perhaps we can discuss in July 2025. 😂

Wish u all well. Peace ✌🏼

Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a child?

Amphoman books have raised $1,000s to help fight poverty and Breast Cancer.

I’ve been compared to Stan Lee and featured in numerous news media outlets.

If you have difficulty seeing my EMMY or the sampling of just some of the media coverage included at the bottom of this post - I can send you larger images.

I create thinking of how I can help others, as opposed to sitting back and judging others.

  6. ComicLink has a Feb auction with Amazing Fantasy 15 in both 1.8 and 2.5. I’m surprised to see the clean label 1.8 at a fraction of the 2.5 when the 2.5 has a comment of tape. Wouldn’t it be preferable to have no comments on a label as opposed to the idea it may present better?
