This is the big gamble when you wait for the show to drop vs selling at the announcement or trailer - what if it stinks? I have faith that fans will enjoy most of the MCU stuff even if it isn't critically lauded and I am hoping the HBO half of the HBO Max side starts to lift some of DC's projects but we'll see. Netflix is way more hit and miss with their original stuff so waiting on their drops is a huge gamble IMO. Moreso than Amazon Prime too I think

it is interesting to see the huge lots for sale on ebay.  250 lot of regular cover, etc... There really wasn't much of a run up at announcement or trailer, maybe when Millarworld was sold tho.  not much of gamble holding as the books never took flight.  or rather not much of a flight.

  2. Blasted by the critics.  33 or so percent rotten tomatoes.  It will be tough for Netflix to renew for a season 2.  Of course, the early viewers would have been fans anticipating this and were probably more disappointed than some casual viewer.  but word of mouth is bad.  i think people are just trying to salvage some money by lifting prices lately.  I doubt there are buyers lined up.

I'm always curious to see what people have that they might have to sit on for a year or three to maybe turn around. I personally like a lot of the Marvel Now stuff and have been picking that up for a while. Spider-Gwen's first solo book, Sam Alexander Nova's first solo, Silk's first solo, have been grabbing Miles' first solo since the first Spider-verse movie, I have so many copies and variants of Champions V2 #1... stuff like that. Is there anything that you think may be coming down the road in the MCU that you've been picking up for a while? Is anyone buying up DC while their books seem to be responding significantly less to the overall hot market? I've been picking at my Batman run here and there, I may regret not going more after those while the getting was good...

Does anyone enjoy speculation? Hate it? I love the books and the stories and many of my favorite books are worthless(Spider-Man(1990) #75!, Osborn Journals) but the buy sell trade elements of the hobby also provide me with a ton of entertainment :cloud9:

I too have been scooping up those Champion v2#1 variants. I try to grab the Sam variants and I think the Kamala side characters first appearance are worth hoarding.  Of course it is now harder and harder to find anything cheap with Kamala and Sam variants. (maybe they are cheap now compared to what will be but that's game)

  4. I noticed that a submission of mine has changed the received date from early September to December 23rd now that pressing has been billed.  This did not happen with my other submissions.  I'm hoping that a mistake was not made and the process starting over again.  Submission # is CGC5176872411.  Thanks for any help and clarification.

    Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Yes, CGC is still open and running normally.  In order to send books in for grading, you would need to be a paid member of our Collector's Society.  You can find out more about how to sign up and how to submit books here: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/how-to-submit/

Once you are a paid member, you would complete a submission form online and print a packing slip.  This is what you will send in with your books.  You can ship you items to us whatever shipping method you prefer. We do recommend insuring your package regardless of the carrier you choose. You can ship signature required.  All shipments are delivered directly to our office location and all packages are signed for.  When we ship your order back you will have the option to choose from USPS Registered mail, FedEx ground or UPS ground.  Only registered will be fully insured (for domestic shipments) whereas FedEx and UPS are only insured up to $100 per box.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Thank you!

I have a suggestion.  I think you should put the CGC mailing addresses on the packing slip.  It always takes me awhile to find the address.  Yes, I know the address is different for USPS as opposed to FEDEX or UPS.  Just a suggestion to lessen frustration.

There is certainly a recent trend of a lot of 2nd and 3rd prints+ being worth more than the 1st print which was almost unherd of with maybe a small handful of exceptions. Now there are quite a few. The 1st edition is still usually worth more, but the exceptions list list growing

Some examples of the top of my head
    Darth Maul 2
    Kanan the Last Padawan 1
    Darth Vader 3
    Dawn of the Jedi 1
    Captain Marvel 17
All-New Marvel Now Point One! 1
    Amazing Spider-man 569
    Amazing Spider-man 654
    Superman Batman Annual 4
    Man of Steel 20
    Batman 608
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 5
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 6
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 7
    Venom 2
    Ms Marvel 1
    I know I'm forgetting a bunch

anyone have an idea why the second print Star Wars from 77 hasn't moved or isn't considered a valuable reprint?

  7. Hi:

I have a book that is scheduled for grading now.  It has an unverified signature.  How do I get a green label as opposed to a low universal grade?

    Invoice # is 3707268
