Looking to make a trade for the listed X-men books for some Spawn books.
[H] X-Men # 54, 58. These copies are in solid condition, estimated mid-grade. No major flaws, photos show quality. Staples are tight, no rust noted.
Ballpark cost analysis for the pair estimated from recent eBay sales: $175-215.[W] Spawn books. Sequential runs preferred. My priority is the 1-32 issue run, so anything including some (or all) of these books is preferred, but open to offers including these and later issues. Not looking for NM books, but nothing low grade please.
Sold listings on eBay for price comparison:
1/14/22: 1-20 sold for $163
1/4/22: 2-51 sold for $89
12/20/21: 1-67 + 1-15 curse $222
12/23/21: 1-39 sold for $195
*note: there are some recent NM/M runs that sold for very high, I am not looking for a NM/M run so not including prices in this list. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions 🍻

I have a feeling the answer is no, nothing can be done since the adhesive has already stained the cover. Have a few like this myself where an anxious owner (the term OCD not in existence back then,) needlessly applied tape to the spine. Allowing it to dry out completely will often allow removal as you've found, but the staining remains. Maybe on a high value book a pro restorer could do some magic. Know anyone?
Thanks for the response! Yea I’m sure a pro restorer could do some good, but I wouldn’t want to invest that much in this book. I think there are some chemical cleanings that could be done as well, but really outside the effort I would want to put in. I guess I was hoping somebody might have a cool little trick that was eluding me on my google searches! 🍻

Hello, I hope everybody is doing well on this fine Saturday. I have a Strange Adventures 180 that had the classic amateur spine reinforcement scotch tape situation. I was able to successfully remove the tape without damaging the book, so big win there.
What I would like to know are there any simple ways to help lessen the discoloration from the old tape? This comic is for my PC, so I’m up for whatever can make it present better! All suggestions appreciated!

if you get it CGC graded it will present real nice no matter what the grade , people seldom care about the back cover and it will still be a blue label
everyone i knew signed their comics way back in the day so their brother and friends didn't mix them up....
I agree! I don’t hate names on books from the silver age, date stamps on the cover dont bother me. Appreciate the response, I have it in Mylar now and it presents juuuuuust fine for me.

Hello, PGM my Xmen #2. Decent shape, has wear on the spine, tried to show in the photos - some tears in mid spine are completely though (but small). The previous owner, a Mr L. Eck marked out the original(?) owners name on the back and wrote his. All sharpie of course. He also decided to leave his mark on an interior page, top and bottom! Maybe L. Eck is some kind of special pedigree collection . Thanks in advance for your input.

Just noticed the last pic here. Is there a tear traveling down from the missing top edge piece on the back cover?
Not a tear, that is just how the light it hitting, I think that’s just an indentation in the paper.

Hello, putting up for sale my ASM #16 CGC 6.5 OW/W. Sharp copy, I think the photos can do the talking. Let me know if you want any additional photos posted.
Accepting PayPal as payment, shipping is $15 and will be added to final selling price (priority mail flat rate box, bubble wrapped and padded).
FM value looks to be at $575, but I have some wiggle room for my friends here at the CGC forum. Asking $550.
Can ship day of sale if payment is received before noon, otherwise will ship the following day.
I don’t sell here often but have sold/traded some big books, and purchased a few others.
First ‘Take’ variation wins. Not looking to trade. No returns as book is graded.

I’ll be shipping off to CGC in a week or 2, I’ll post results hopefully mid-late January. Thanks for the input, coin flip for 3-3.5.

Hi everybody, got a cool book recently and would appreciate opinions on the grade. I will eventually get this graded, so I plan to update this post for anybody interested in following up. I think the photos do a good job of showing the books condition, it’s clearly well loved but doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart when flipping through.

[CLOSED]. HAVE: Secret Wars 1984 1-12 Newsstand Raw. Looking to TRADE for Iron Fist 14.
in Copper / Modern Age Only

Looking to trade my run of Secret Wars newsstand books for a decent copy of Iron Fist #14. The price range for both are broad, but I think the Secret Wars lot is equal to a F to F+ based on eBay sold listings - somewhere around $250-300ish. Priority shipping to be paid by each party for the books they are trading, this lot would be shipped in a rigid box. See link with detailed pics below. Thanks for looking 🍻
