I get what you’re saying Kevin76 but the markings are more of a shadowing than just a blob of ink, you can see the outline of the S near the title where it says Batmans psychic twin and next to robins glove is almost identical in size and shape same thing with his hair. You can also see the line of Batman’s cape and the line of the dragons wing.

I have a copy of Batman 181 I sent it in to have it graded not really knowing a whole lot about pressing I received it back there are some minor defects it was graded at a 4.0 the only press-able defect is minor spine role should I resubmit it and have it pressed? do you think it would be worth it?

I recently acquired this copy of Batman 155 first silver age appearance of the penguin. the pictures online made it look like there were smudges/dirt specifically in the area between the penguin and Robin. once I receive the book and held it in my hands I saw that those smudges were actually a form of ink shadowing, you can see it’s like Robins glove and hair I’m not sure what the technical term for this is called has anyone seen something like this before.

Should I have this graded and if so should I see about having the tape removed from Hourmans left elbow. If the tape cannot be removed without significant damage to the comic should I have it pressed with the tape?
Will this printing error bring down the grade?

Hey guys I’m new to the CGC chat boards and I hope I’m in the right place. I came across this Batman 155 and what I first thought was dirt or a smudge is actually a printing error, or at least that’s what I think. It appears to be almost like a shadowing effect. There are several places on the cover you can see it but the most noticeable is Robin’s glove and hair. I am curious if anyone knows what the technical term is for this or if they’ve seen it before? Is it common? Appreciate any insight you may have, thank you!
