  1. Just found a Sandman 75 (2nd print in the wild)

Never would have thought I'd get lucky.

Wow, that's a nice find, never knew this existed until now. I'll have to keep an (unrealistically optimistic) eye out for this. Looked it up on recalled comics and it has it rated at a 3 out of 5 in scarcity, and the only listing on eBay I could find has it listed at $2,000!

Just because they're asking that price, doesn't mean it's worth the price.

Supposedly one sold in March raw for 2k which is why the 1999 asking price on eBay. I have heard about them being around for years but never saw a true pic of one until last year

  2.

My current "Grail" I bought this error version off the newsstand at a local grocery store. I've turned down big $$$ for it but even it is not a GRAIL enough that I would not sell.

What's the deal with this one? Is it b/c it's a newsstand book ($2.25) instead of just the 25-cent version?

I remember there was an FF book that was really tough to find the regular price.

I bought a few of these Xmen's when they came out based on that. How much is the X-book going for? I might have to pull them out of storage.

Yes its the error because of the 2 prices. There is an FF and an Avengers error too.

All tough to find with X-men being CRAZY hard

  3. My grail WAS my Spiral Edition 30 Days of Night. I sold it a few years ago and am ok with it not being in my collection but I had to delete all pics of it because a part of me wants it back.

HOWEVER, what I would like back is the Batman:Harley Quin CGC 9.8 SS by Dini and Ross I sold 5-6 years ago on the boards. I just wish I knew who I sold to years ago.

Niiiiiiiiccceee! I don't have any to sell but really enjoy his acting.

I love the guy, he's brilliant. Can't wait to see

    .

I am really looking forward to that one as well. Was such a nice surprise to see him in Peaky Blinders on Netflix. That show is awesome all around. Much like your IKG slab! Love that series!

Tom Hardy was GREAT in Peaky Blinders! (So was Cillian Murphy)

Sorry not comic books I know but great TV

  5. The Mystery Boxes are not really a probation matter unless you do not receive the box.

That being said I bought one the past time, for the 1st time and knew it was a gamble.

It is, to coin a phrase from Dave Ramsey "stupid tax"

I received 38 VG to F+ war comics.

No refund asked for needed or anything to make it better. Just a life lesson learned.

Did I expect a 9.8 ASM 300 or anything like that NO

Did I expect 38 mid grade comics NO

Is it my fault for buying a Mystery Box YES

  6. Wonder if losing the artist hurt the TV show prospects. The buzz balloon pretty much popped after that happened.

I agree the events with the artist hurt the momentum and it would seem might have affected it.

Our sales have increased. Our pre orders for volume 2 were five times the amount than for volume 1.

And that article didn't get the whole context of the conversation. So, that was swell of him to write without asking me any f@cking questions.

It has expired, but is in the process of being renewed.

    Sheesh, you negative Nellie's!

Still one of my favorite books out there.

TV, Movie or whatever it is a GREAT COMIC BOOK!!

  7. Ran across this while sorting through my collection and being Saturday

made me remember the fun that it was to visit the newsstand on Bloomfield

Avenue every Saturday and pick up one or two comics, depending on how I

had done delivering groceries from the A&P Market. I would take my wagon and

wait outside the market with four or five other kids for people who had large bags

of groceries and ask them if they needed help getting them home. The going rate

was 10 cents. As soon as I got 40 or 50 cents I was off to the newsstand. I only

needed 17 cents for the afternoon movie and 5 cents for candy...the rest went to

    comics.

    Nice book and great story!

Agreed. It's those kind of memories that make this hobby so special.

Great story and a cool cover I have never seen.

  8.

But it's a pin-up? It isn't in continuity or out of continuity and is after BA 12 anyway, right? It's cool, I'll give you that. Cable's face appears in the "next month" section of New Mutants 86...

Yeah its just an art book, no dialogue or story.

In my opinion pin-up comics and similar works are undervalued depending on the art within. I personally collect Tim Vigil art. I will buy anything he has done even Grips. But I'm also a completest. I understand not everyone is but It's likely that a lot of people who collect comics are. Point is, there doesn't always have to an in-continuity story or panel sequence for me to want to purchase his comic work. This seems to be another case of people just not knowing about early Harley art in a comic. If I were a serious Harley collector I would want it.

    Grips is such good memories

    Love Tim Vigil
