After years of owning the prelim and wondering where the final art was, this is finally up on my wall. Thanks, ComicLink!
Ultimate War #3 page 23 by Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend

They don't come up often. (Just the same ones over and over again.) And when they do, they go pretty quickly.

ARSEFACE!

I don't own any Preacher pages. Never have. Likely never will.
But $3-5K? I think that's high.
Maybe if you got the best of the best up for auction and two sets of deep pockets went after it.
Maybe.

I'm another big fan of prelims. I love seeing the process ... and some of my prelims are practically finished pieces. I've only ever received one or two as part of a purchase of the final art. Most of them were purchased on their own.
I've got this one framed and hanging on my wall.

After a bit of a dry spell, it's been a pretty good week for art.
First, I picked up a killer DPS from Scott Pilgrim for myself:

Then these Darwyn Cooke pages from The Outfit showed up. I love surprises. Especially surprises like these:

Bet you can't buy just one (or stick to $11 pieces).

I actually asked him about this cover at a con years ago. He said everything from his Marvel days was long gone.

Piling on. X-Factor #52 cover.
Yes, it's by Liefeld. Don't judge me.
Also looking for pages from the interior. Terry Shoemaker and Al Milgrom handled the art duties.
You should have put the "don't judge me" BEFORE the picture.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing. I can honestly say this is probably the only piece of art by RL that I'd like to own.
And since everyone else hates it — I should be able to have it for cheap.
Now who's gonna find it for me?

I don't normally jump on strip art, but when I saw this for sale I had to have it.

Zits Sunday strip by Jim Borgman. I am thrilled to own this.

Not one, not two, not three — but all eight pages from Mike Allred's story in the first issue of Rockteer Adventures.
My wife is awesome.

I've been waiting for one of these to come in before posting, but here's my birthday/Christmas haul:

And from my wonderful wife, an unused pinup from the Parker series by Darwyn Cooke

It was a great December (and a little bit of January)

Picked up this beauty from the post office today...
Marvel Comics Presents (featuring Wolverine and Venom) by Sam Kieth
I couldn't be happier.

Those are FANTASTIC!
I'd been trying to get the previous owner to sell for a couple of years now - I just happened to ask again at the right time.
-
John Cassaday tryout page from Captain America
and a color commission of the same piece by Laura Martin.
It was a very good day.

Just got this in from the frame shop! Watchmen is carved out of the black matte to reveal the yellow matte underneath, and the smiley is an actual pin I had him inset.
Thanks for looking!
Ken

Nice idea - but the kerning (or lack thereof) is killing me. (graphic designer by trade, can't help it.)

I ended up buying pages 5 and 6 of The Man Who Loved Breasts. These pages actually face each other in the comic, which is why I bought them as a set.
Of course you did. EVERYONE knows you have to buy breasts in a set.

I haven't had a real nice art day in a while, so ...
Just a little something I got in the mail from Eduardo Risso.

Nice pick-ups. I've wanted a Mack Alias cover for a while ...

Being a huge spaghetti western fan, I just couldn't pass up this little James O'Barr piece.
I loved this piece when I saw it on eBay. I just couldn't make myself pull the trigger at the time.

My very first piece of original art that I owned. Sold it to pay for school and have regretted it ever since (and have had no leads to its whereabouts)
That was your FIRST piece? Gah ...

Mmmmmmmm ... zombies.
New podcast/video from Felix Comic Art (UPDATED 1/3/17!)
in Original Comic Art

Finally broke down and jumped on the podcast bandwagon. (My commute was always so short, I never had the time to listen.) This was the first thing I downloaded.
As someone who can't get to a lot of cons, so I don't have the opportunity to "talk shop" with other collectors, this is the next best thing.
And those videos are great as well.
Keep it up, Felix!
