Although, I am curious why CGC would not recognize it? What did CBCS need to verify it came from such pedigree? Or were they associated with its finding so they needed no verification? If someone wants to PM me an answer rather than me de-railing the original post that would be preferred.

CGC doesn't have it listed as one of its pedigree options. Here's a little more info on it: https://www.comicconnect.com/load_page.php?page=2016_PennDutchCollection

  2. Thinking about taking this with me to Hawaii and cracking it to get Roy Thomas' sig in a CGC SS slab, but not sure if it will be worth the trouble. I'd also lose the pedigree (PA Dutch) which would be a bit of a bummer. Apologies if the photos are lacking, it's my first time. I can reveal the other company's grade if people want me to/if it's appropriate.

  3. Just got back my first batch of books (all the same issue) and was overall pleased, except for an error on all the labels, they misspelled the artist's last name. I also noticed the date of 5/19; assuming that's the release date, that is also a mistake. Are these common mistakes? I don't really feel like going through shipping them all back as I'll be traveling for summer and won't be around to get packages, but a little bummed.

Will give them a call tomorrow.

(edit: the indicia date is correct, so the only error is the name spelling)

(thumbsuThis is the route to go. Just be aware there's a minimum number of books to submit at a single time if you opt to use pre-screen services. Here's a link from CGC's website: https://www.cgccomics.com/services/prescreen/

    Good luck!

    Pre-screening.

Thanks, I saw that earlier, but wasn't planning on getting close to the 25 book minimum since there are only 9 covers left that I need graded, but I guess if I send in multiple copies I'll get pretty close.

  5. Hi all,

I want to put together an entire set of 9.8 Age of Conan: Belit, including all the variant covers. I got the results of my first batch back and was pleased to get 4/6 as 9.8s with two 9.6s. As I am relatively new to collecting graded books I am trying to figure out the most cost effective way to proceed as sending in multiple copies of a given cover seems like a waste, especially as the variants can add a bit, but I'm not sure how to ensure a 9.8. Should I submit only one and spring for pressing and cleaning even though the books all look clean. Should I send only one of each cover at a time and cross my fingers, but potentially get burned on shipping costs down the road?
