Good morning, thanks for your message. We're sorry about that! It looks to be something on the inside of the holder. Please email these images to our customer service department and they can send you instructions as well as a return shipping label to send the books back and we can reholder them for you at no cost. You can email us at: submissions@cgccomics.com.
Thank you!
Done! Thanks for your help.

Hi, I am noticing that most of my new slabs received today have some kind of gunk on the inner plastic.
This is my first submission with CGC, do I need to pay more to have them put into clean slabs? Is this normal?
They are all 9.8, but have staining all over the slabs. I feel like it will cause problems for me if I decide to sell one day. Thanks!

I think it's picking up foxing. The yellows on these SA Marvels can be prone to it, imo. I have an ASM 25 which has clear foxing spots on the front cover.
I can agree with that. It is hard to really capture in a photo without purple glare. I pulled a different yellow comic out to see if there was a similar effect. I think I am just paranoid also! haha

I would say the black light is inconclusive. Look for bleed thru on the inside front cover.
No bleed on the inside, that I can see, although darker colors would be easier to spot. Seems more like foxing, and the more I stare at it, the more I may be causing my brain to pick things out that are normal. There is an area under DDs left foot that looks like rubbing, but that does not turn pink like the area over the Title.
Thanks for looking!

HI, I recently purchased a cheap blacklight flashlight. I had been through quite a few silver age comics, until this one arrived today, Daredevil #17. This is the first to look strange to me... but I may be overthinking it.
Please have a look at the photos, mostly along the top edge, because I cannot tell if it is normal wear on the yellow, or heavy-handed dry cleaning (which would not appear darker under a blacklight, would it?), or color touch.
The right side of the comic appears trimmed from front cover to mid staples, and is crooked from bottom to top of the comic.
This may only be a printing defect, but I am not sure.
I value anyone elses eyes on this. Thank you!!!

The bottom half of the book skews outward slightly and is definitely wider as you look down the right side. It has been driving me nuts because the foxing looks normal and seems consistent all the way down the edge of the comic.
Thanks for having a look!

I love this issue. I also think it's funny that it was decided to include Kid Colt on the cover. And Sgt. Fury, along with his 1960's Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. incarnation.
Merry Mixed-up Marvel.
Nice copy!

I am somewhat new to this forum, so I hope this is the correct board. I wanted to finish collecting all of the DD early yellow costume issues, and a few early crossovers (some after the red costume).
DD #1-6
ASM #16
FF #39, 40
Not counting the Marvel Super Heroes issue reprints, are there any other appearances?
Thanks!

I've received a couple fresh slabs from CGC with debris on the interior. Spots that can be seen at certain angles. .. Since they were new, CGC reslabbed them for me... so not uncommon.
Thanks I will prob get it reslabbed sometime soon.

One of the things that's very hard to do with any of the cases is to open them without cracking the plastic. Other things to look for would be whether the top label had been taken off and reattached (the newer comic cases don't have an exterior top label), whether the book matches the grade given on the label, and whether the posts are cracked or broken.
Your book appears to pass all these tests, and it's pretty common to have some scuffs or debris on (or in) these older cases, especially if the book has passed through a few different hands.
Congratulations, Happy New Year and Welcome to the Boards!!!
Thank you very much!! For some reason I thought the entire slab would be sealed, or snapped closed all the way around, and I felt kind of ignorant for not doing the research, haha. The white on the corner seemed like someone tried gluing it, so my mind got carried away and it brought me here. The cert # checked out fine before I made the purchase, but I had heard horror stories of people swapping labels. Thanks for the reply

I just bought my first slab, and I understood that it is normal to be able to pull the sides open a few centimeters, but I am concerned that someone tampered with this and changed the label.
The inside looks dirty with spots inside the case. Not on the book.
Please someone take a moment to see the corners with the tiny tabs. I do not have experience with cgc books.
Thank you!

Same here. I am sending back. They said it was due to "vibrations" in transit. The back covers look ok. I am pretty disappointed. My value tier arrived okay, but the modern came this way. The certification is supposed to extiguish any question of the grade. If I want to sell these one day I want to sell "Certified 9.8", not a "9.8 but sorry crud inside the case". Hopefully it will get fixed.
