Has anyone else been having long delays with magazine pressing submissions?

I sent in a few high value magazines that have been stuck at "CCS in process" for 8 weeks now (vs. the 10 day turnaround time on the CGC website). I'm starting to get nervous that they may have lost them. 

Hi, on the CGC website it says "CGC grades most magazines that fit within the following dimensions: 11-1/2" tall x 8-7/8" wide x 1/2" thick".

Are these dimensions up to date? I could be mistaken, but I thought I saw some thicker magazines that fit in CGC's new magazine cases. Also, now that CGC has thicker cases for pulps, could these accomodate some thicker magazines as well?

I ask because I have some magazines that are a tiny bit thicker than 1/2" (they are about 0.55") that I was interested in getting graded.

I saw a video by the CGC president last month where he said CGC was planning to open pulp grading in December. Does anyone know if that is still the plan?

Hi, I created an order to send 17 comics to CGC to get re-holdered. The CGC submission form gave the option to purchase a prepaid Fedex shipping label to send the books to CGC - I selected to do this. However, the shipping label shows a weight of "1.00 LB". This is obviously incorrect (as 17 slabs of course weigh way more than this). Is it still ok to use this shipping label? I assume everyone that is trying to purchase the prepaid shipping label through the CGC submission form is also having this problem.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for looking into this. It has now been 7 months since CGC marked this reholder order as received (vs. CGC's estimated turnaround time of 35 days) and it is still stuck in "Grading / Quality Control". Could you please check with the Quality Control/Shipping department and make sure they have not lost these comics? Thank you

Hi, I submitted some comics for reholder (submission # 3941504 ). CGC marked the submission as received over 6 months ago but it is still stuck in grading. Since this is several months longer than the estimated turnaround time, I wanted to check on the status and make sure it hasn't been lost or anything. I tried to email CGC customer service a couple times but did not receive a response. Could you please check the status?

Hi guys, can anyone recommend good pressing services with reasonable turnaround times? Most of the big ones seem to have super long turnaround times now.

Hi, I sent in a box of comics that arrived at CGC 4 weeks ago (on 7/15). The package delivery confirmation tool on the CGC website confirms that it arrived at the CGC facility, but it appears that the box has not yet been opened (it does not yet show up in the Submission Tracking page).

I just wanted to make sure this is normal.

Hi guys, I'm new to CGC trading card cases (and am more familiar with their comic cases, which have to be bubble wrapped and shipped in a box to avoid getting cracked in transit). Are the trading card cases more durable? Can they be safely shipped in a bubble envelope? Thank you

@RadDude I just bought the notes (copied below). Good call on checking those - they don't even mention the pencil.

very small tear left center of back cover
wear all corners back cover breaks color"

The small indents they mention on the front cover (pic attached) look like they might press out. I'm not sure what their last note means: "wear all corners back cover breaks cover." The corners look quite sharp to me and they are white (so no color to break anyway)?

I guess CCS offers a service where they pre-screen books to see if they would likely bump before cracking them out, so maybe that's worth a try.

I have an expensive CGC 9.0 graded copy of Weird Fantasy Annual #1. It is pretty much flawless except for a pencil mark at the top of the "Fantasy" on the front cover and a tiny tear on the edge of the back cover. I'm trying to decide whether to have CCS or someone else try to remove the pencil, or just leave it alone. It it got bumped to a 9.2 it would double in value.

For sellers it seems to beat First Class International. Cheaper, better tracking, ebay removes any neg feedback due to late delivery, no need to fill out customs forms (since you send to an ebay fulfillment center and they forward on), $100 insurance.

I subscribe to both.

The main advantage of gocollect is that they show where every sale occurred (so you can see if it was an auction on ComicConnect vs. buy it now on ebay, or if there was some oddity with the listing that caused it to be a low ball sale). GPA just shows prices without saying where they occurred (and you have to trust them to be accurate). I also think it easier to find variant comics on gocollect.

The main advantage of GPA is that they tend to have better data for sales that happened a long time ago.

On #1, the membership discount shows up for me when I go through the online checkout. If you paid $31.45 for Economy that sounds like a discount was applied (the normal fee I see for Economy is $38 + $10 for fast track).

On #2, the $150 credit was processed for me automatically after they received the books.
