Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®), the world leader in comic book authentication and grading, is expanding its services to include imaging for all comics and magazines after encapsulation. The images will be displayed in the CGC Certification Verification tool, providing collectors, dealers and enthusiasts with high-quality digital images of CGC-certified collectibles. Imaging all comics and magazines after encapsulation and making them available online is the latest way that CGC is adding value, safety and transparency to the pop culture collectibles market. Now, when collectors enter a collectible’s CGC certification number to confirm its description and grade in the CGC database, they will also be able to reference an image of the collectible. This will help collectors verify that their CGC holder is genuine and has not been tampered with. Certification verification, and the images now available, can also be used as a useful starting point to research a CGC-certified collectible. This is particularly helpful for those buying and selling collectibles. In addition, by providing digital images, CGC ensures that collectors have a reliable record of their collection’s condition and appearance. Images of the comics and magazines that CGC has graded, starting in July 2023, are now available on the CGC website for all to see. Remember to check the Certification Verification tool when you receive your next submission back from CGC!
