  1. Hey Bang....love the Tecs !!! My #1 most wanted book right now ( which I can not find anywhere ) is a high grade copy of Tec #168. Would you happen to have a copy you could post? Steve
  2. Let's keep this great thread going.....this is one of my favorite books, pictured here raw. Metro auctioned it off on eBay about 6+ months ago, and Rick (Detective27kid) bought it for $12k-ish, had it graded, and then flipped it to me for $15k. It was a win / win / win (not Centaurman). It graded VG/F 5.0 unrestored with off-white pages, and is presently the 3rd highest graded unrestored copy, right behind the Crippen copy - 5.5. Thanks again Rick !!! I LOVE this book !! Steve
  3. Sure! grade: approx 7.0 F/VF sellers name: price: date of sale: sale venue: pedigree: slabbing?: keeper? :
  4. unrestored OW/W pages....listed in the 'Have a Cigar' thread.....Silver Surfer suggested I show her here too: Book is from an OO collection Steve
  5. Glad you got it Steve!! Thanks for the sneak peek the other day! you helped launch me into the GA world Ciorac!
  6. oh yeah....I almost forgot.....I bought this book this week. Unrestored OW/W pages Steve
  7. I'll bet you dollars to donughts that at some point in Bang's past, a relative or close friend said "what are you doing wasting your time and money collecting those things....they'll never be worth anything!" Steve
  8. Is this one of the "Int" books that there was a thread started about? Ken This book is from an original owner collection, and I did not see the "Int" thread.......so, I guess I'm not much help here This book has been "reserved" for sale to the Detective27Kid once it comes back from CGC......wonder how she'll grade with the minor bottom spine damage but overall very nice condition? Steve
  9. Very nice Steve Thanks...and a belated welcome to the Boards! The 3 HUMOR books that you see here were sold last week for $18,000 to one of the Countires top Platinum Age collectors.(private sale). The only other known set is in the Geppi Musuem. The Mickey Mouse BLB will be buried with me when the time comes Steve
  10. Consider it done my friend ......I am going to send it to CGC, and then we can price it properly / know for sure what we're dealing with.(mostly verification of no resto..Rick and I are sitting at the grown-ups table with regards to grading and PQ assessment). Another Boards success story in the making, as I did not know Rick prior to joining. Steve
  11. I listed this book in the "have a cigar" thread and then nothing.......it was like I posted a low grade restored Classics Illustrated. Let's try this again here......... This Tec 44 is from an OO collection, and is a VF unrestored with off-white to white pages. This book in this condition is not exactly growing on trees Steve
  12. Steve, You need to sell this nice book to one of these Timely guys who will truly appreciate it. Richard OK...I'm a DC guy who "stumbled" across this one.....what do you think she's worth to the die hard Timely guys ???
  13. an "issue" at the bottom of the spine/back cover, but overall a pretty nice unrestored off-white paged book
  14. I'm always happy to pick up a VF unrestored off-white paged 'large logo' Detective from an OO collection........... Steve
  15. A little Silver / Gold match up.....both sold for $55,000 in '05. Although this is a GA forum, I will still be a little suprised if most don't go Silver on this one. Which one would you choose, and why ? ...........or Spidey for me....in 1/2 of 1 second
  16. ...one of my most wanted books right now ( as you can see from my signature WTB list ). I was wondering who plucked this off the Metro site. This is a real nice copy....virtually impossible to find in high grade. Congrats! Steve
  17. Both sold for apprx. $51k within the past 15 months....which one would you choose, and why ? ..........or Bat #1 for me...no brainer/ Let's see who agrees
  18. I was offered privately about 2 months ago a raw F/VF MPFW #1 with stunning off-white to white pages for $35,000. Based on that, plus past sales that can be found in Heritage's archives, this copy seems to be priced about $10k too high. Low $20k's feels right....not low $30k's Steve
  19. Bill P. is one of my real life comic heroes!
  20. This is a true "classic" pre-code classic....congrats! Steve
